You should put some contact info in your local Radio Controlled Airplane and Car clubs. A good running light weight weedeater engine is $$$ all day long. You dont have to worry about shafts or heads, just show them running with a psi cylinder rating.

My grandad has 3 weedeater brands sitting in the corner of his garage. Obviously not running lol. He didnt use them that much. Obviously they will not start now. When he got them his health was bad. Now its a whole lot better. But im thinking if his health was a whole lot better they would most likely still be running. He left old gas in them. Their good cheap weedeaters. Better then Hypertough! I seen one of your videos 2 or 3 years ago that i commented on. It was about your Weedeater GTI 15T. Are you still looking for parts for it? I hope i can get mine running. It was my great grandads. Sorry for the long comment. Have a good day. - Hunter

This might sound a bit blunt, but many people who claim these machines are “worthless” lack proper financial management skills. I used to be one of these people. Instead of addressing the issue, they impulsively buy new items simply because the old one requires some maintenance. and I can attest to this firsthand. Many who have plenty of money, at times will have older machines or products. This is why they have more savings. However, my ways have changed. Now, I primarily purchase items from marketplaces and opt for used ones. This approach may not be feasible in all situations, especially if someone urgently needs a new item (e.g., same-day) and their old one malfunctions & isn’t fixable in five minutes. If a machine is cost-effective to repair (whether it’s a low-cost option or a worthwhile investment in the long run), it’s possible to fix it and either donate it to someone in need or keep it for yourself. These more affordable models can still have practical uses and may even become essential in certain circumstances. For instance, in Spring 2024, I needed a gas or cordless weed trimmer. I considered battery or gas options. While visiting a friend’s house, I found one of these “Feather-Lites” under their shed. I grabbed it, but when I pulled on the recoil, it was seized. Since I needed one for myself quickly, I decided to find another working model. Fortunately, I ended up purchasing an almost new Echo SRM-225 for about half of its original price. It was in excellent condition. In conclusion, If my friend’s trimmer would have spun over with compression, I would have taken it home without hesitation

I stick with name brands. I have the cheapest model of Craftsman mower. It is 18 years old now, and still runs perfect, even after spending about five years sitting in various backyards before I got it and fixed it. I still use it regularly. It's part of the permanent fleet, lol. I recently got a Snapper mower running with a 3/98 build date on it. It weighs twice as much as any modern mower. The difference is build quality is very noticeable.

I recently picked up a Craftsman mower with a 4/08 production date that has only been used once or twice. It has a Briggs 6.25. When I got it, the outside of the mower was covered in oil and barn dust. It was drastically overfilled with oil. The carb was full of oil, and I assume the muffler was too. I drained the excess oil, replace the carb, and got it running. It is running perfectly, but when I shut it off, some light smoke comes up through the engine cover. I have already had the recoil off and cleaned the outside of the engine. Is it just oil burning off in the muffler, or could it be coming from somewhere else?
@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE2 күн бұрын
I've only seen something like that once before and it was with a 6.25 or 6.50 Briggs. I was guessing it was coming from the muffler. The seal between the muffler and engine is not very good.

When I saw the Power Smart mower it reminded me of the powersmart snowblower I had 2 years ago. They promised me it would start in the cold of a midwest winter, it didnt. There was a part I needed for it. Tried to call the company, nobody answered the phone or called me back. I eventually got the state attorney general's office involved,they were ignored. Finally I called my credit card company and got a chargeback. They are not good machines.

I do store all my equipment with non ethanol fuel, however i do start them at least once a week! In all im 2strokes i run Red Armor and since storing them with fuel and starting them I haven't had any issues, knock on wood. As far ax battery to gas equipment. I'll stay with my gas... My opinion battery is way over priced and you absolutely fo not get the performance of gas. Battery is definitely a great option for elderly and folks that aren't able to use gas. Im still using my Lawn tractor that was made in 90, try that with a battery tractor.
