I am a male nurse having trained in the 80s I can totally relate to what is being described in this talk. If you are a man and you want to be a nurse go for it. It’s a great job there are lots of opportunities and you will get to meet lots of people ignore the gender stereotypes and go for it. Nursing needs more men.

Hi Judy I have been a male nurse for over 40 years,and now 64 years of age and retired,I recently joined a golfing society in Lanzarotte and a policeman who was a member of the society called me nursie,I found this to be offensive ,I explained this to the captain of the society who told me to get a life,and banned me from the society, maybe I should have called myself a failed Doctor and I would have had more respect

Mens nurses are very excellent at their jobs. I know a lot of them here in Italy.

The epitomy of skimming the headline. The statement had to do with the projections society put upon male nurses. - signed, a male nurse.,

Thank you for your comment, I am proud to be a nurse and yes I say I should not be a nurse, but please watch to my final closing statement. This is meant to be tongue in cheek, though provoking, challenging your views. This is what TED and TEDX talks are about...

I dunno, this bloke sounds like a bit of a snowflake. No wonder he's a nurse.
@seanzona Жыл бұрын
Really!! Just pointing out the facts as they stand and how we are missing an untapped resource of men in nursing, what do you do exactly? So that I may mock you and be offensive back? Oh wait, would that just make me a snowflake again. rather an educated snowflake than an ignoramous ( you may want to look that word up)
