It's A Monkey Life: Jim's Dream (Monkey World: Primate Paradise) Full Documentary: Monkey World celebrates its 30th year and this remarkable documentary tells the story of how it all began, with one mans dream to save abused chimpanzees in Spain. Jim Cronin's passion for protecting primates saw him transform a derelict farm in Dorset into a rescue centre that has since grown into the largest sanctuary of its kin in the world today. Along the way Jim, his wife Alison and head keeper Jeremy saved hundreds of monkeys and apes from abuse and neglect. When Jim died suddenly in 2007, Alison and Jeremy had to carry on to fulfil his dream.

The Fab Four has never been more appropriate or as well earned as it is here...Jim, Jeremy, Allison & John. I struggle to find the right words as everything that comes to mind really just falls short of expressing my admiration, gratitude & appreciation. You all are amazing humans. One man's passion & dream, shared with others, became a reality & made a huge difference in the world. Not only saving lives but providing all of these individuals with a life worth living. Beyond the basic requirements to sustain life, every living soul deserves to live with dignity, love & companionship. Many of those stolen from the wild can never get their freedom back. All of the damage done to those rescued from captivity can never be completely undone. Families killed for the theft of an infant can never be brought back. Mental & physical scars from all of that horrific abuse will never be completely erased. Thanks to Monkey World, though, these guys have the opportunity to live out the rest of their lives as close to normal as possible. You guys are doing important work. The very first day Jim and Allison met in my opinion Jim knew that he was going to marry Allison because he else would just meet somebody and then introduce her as his wife. He was in love from day one and honestly, I think Allison was too. 😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤

I agree with the narrator. If ANYBODY could bring poor Charlie back from the hell he had endured, it would be Jeremy. He has a very special and unique bond with these animals. I've seen it...with Oshine, with Kalu. His love and devotion healed them. I am PROUD of Jim and Alison for fighting so bravely to protect these precious animals...ESPECIALLY ones like Trudy and Charlie who were so abused. Trudy is a BABY and that vile monster of a circus owner was BEATING HER? Why? Because she wouldn't perform? Because she's a traumatized infant who desperately wants her mother to hold her? SHAME on these vile monsters for what they do. There is a special place in hell for people who abuse innocent animals.

Monkey World was my favourite tv show. I didn’t realise that they had a KZbin channel, which I just discovered tonight. I’m so happy to have found it and can’t believe they don’t have millions of subscribers yet. The enormously important work that they do and have done cannot be overstated. I was completely gutted when I first heard of the passing of Jim. He has created a beautiful legacy to pass on to future generations, to treat these primates as intelligent individuals, tailoring individual treatment for each primate so that all of their physical, social and mental health needs are met. I’m in the UK and would love to visit the sanctuary someday. We had an aggressive dog in the neighborhood. My rescue and I won her heart and she ours. Before she died she played although she had arthritis. She did a little hopping on her back legs. It was a honor to see that. I understand teaching Charle to play. ❤️

What a wonderful man to have thought of this. Then adding another who talked to primates with respect shows that he knew that this man was right for the job. Then finding a woman with the same passion and falling in love was wonderful. As she grew to loving the idea of the dreams he had, sadly he past away. He knew in his heart that when he departed from this world the woman he fell in love with would carryon his life’s mission. Tears fell down my eyes as Jeremy lovingly held hands on Charley. Plus the look of love coming out of Charlie’s eyes at Jeremy the chimp knew that his friend was there to make his life go to a peaceful monkey world that we will see one day.
