Puran poli is not native to Maharashtra ... It came from Karnataka with karnataki Brahmins in peshwa rule .. it's real name is "hurna holige"😊

This is not puranpoli, not even a modification. Puranpoli is called different names, it is called obbattu/bobbattu/holige in Andhra/Telangana and Karnataka. Also, purnalu is also made with moong dal.

Its not idly batter ji😀.. It is dosa batter, as there is a difference between idly and dosa batter.. And just a little salt, not as per tasty.. Because it is a sweet dish.. And cooking soda may sometimes splatter the "burelu" in oil.. So, i avoid it..
