Armand joins the interview, and he and Louis tell Molloy how they met.

Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire, or simply Interview with the Vampire, is an American gothic horror television series created by Rolin Jones for AMC, based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Anne Rice. The series follows the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) who recounts his life with his maker Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and teenage vampire Claudia (Bailey Bass and Delainey Hayles) to veteran journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), accompanied by ancient vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). The series embraces the homosexual elements of Rice's work, which are only insinuated in the 1994 film adaptation of the novel. It is the first television series in Rice's Immortal Universe.
Interview with the Vampire received a series order in June 2021, after AMC Networks had purchased the rights to intellectual property encompassing 18 of Rice's novels, primarily The Vampire Chronicles, in 2020. The series was renewed for an eight-episode second season in September 2022, ahead of the premiere of its first season on October 2, 2022.
The first season received critical acclaim, with praise going towards the writing, tone, costumes, soundtrack, production values, performances (particularly those of Anderson and Reid), and chemistry between the two actors.
Adapted from Anne Rice's 1976 gothic horror novel Interview with the Vampire, the series centers on the life story of vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy. An affluent black man in 1910s New Orleans, Louis is romanced and later made a vampire by the charismatic Lestat de Lioncourt. But the price of immortality is steep, and the relationship between Louis and Lestat is further complicated by the introduction of Lestat's newest fledgling, the teenage vampire Claudia.

I laughed when Daniel joked about their romance and played the theme to American soap opera "The Young and the Restless" on his laptop. 😅😅😅😅 The new Claudia is amazing. I agree.

Dubai Louis scares me, to be honest. Like, what was that evil smirk?? Daniel should be more careful, but then again, I love him for being so straightforward and not willing to take their bullshit. Also, Claudia is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy every scene with her!

​@@HuntingVioletsthere is a difference between holding Louis up to the truth and poking him and joking about some of his most painful moments. Even Daniel said that it was a joke and that Louis served it up when Armand said how nice it was that he get comfort from making fun of Louis pain. Daniel should be asking the hard questions, but he deserved to get smacked down there.

Let Daniel have his fun, Loumand - just cos the guy's not swallowing your bs, no need to be cruel, lol! I'm just as intrigued with Dubai as I am with the past - but damn, I reach a whole new level of yearning until we get a Lestat breadcrumb! Great reaction!

About the diary pages- the Bruce pages were ripped out, presumably by Louis in anger. In other diaries, however, several pages have been cut out methodically. So the pages Bruce was in are not the same pages that Armand’s name is in.

Remember Guillermo (from WWDitS)wanted to be like Armand back in S1, but the one from the movie. Also, in the episode with the Vampire Council they said Brad and Tom couldn’t be there, another reference to the Interview with the Vampire movie.

I don't know if it sincere or a facade, but that letter from Lestat was absolutely devastating. If it's sincere, it's incredibly romantic and heart-breaking -- like a knife plunged directly into Louis' heart. Both actors played it to perfection. Also, I absolutely loved Santiago "hamming it up" onstage! Magnetic performance. The vampires toying with Daniel in the present -- ouch! In an instant Daniel suddenly looked so old, frail, scared, and sad.

After watching episode 2 , I realized Lestat and Armand have something in common: they both stalk Louis. Did anyone else notice how Armand's expression changes as the story is being told about how they met? When he embraces Louis's hand, he quickly looks up at Daniel and then immediately looks down at the floor, almost as if he's sad or lying. The Alice attack on Daniel seemed out of character for Louis. Did Armand make him do this ? I was surprised Armand didn’t stop him like he did when he asked about Claudia’s assault.

Lestat is the most immoral of all the immortals. Hello 👋🏻. I like they change the era when they go to Europe to just after WW 2, in the book it is set in the 1860s.

god its so hard keeping my mouth shut about stuff from the books but i will say remember from the last episode of season 1, there was another section of claudia's diary that was cut out with a ruler 🤔

The theory that Armand isn't actually with Louis as if they’re trying to trick Daniel because when they’re in their private quarters, they seem cold and distance to each other and only intimate on front of Daniel.

No. Louis gave Armand a kiss when Armand agreed to put the pages back in. They've been together for 77 years. Do you expect them to be all over each other like a young, newly married couple? They act like any old couple do when going to bed. I think a lot of people are reading more into this than there really is.
