Karolyn Grimes (born July 4, 1940 was still living in 2024. She played the little girl Zuzu Bailey. At the end of the picture, when everyone is happy around the Bailey family Christmas tree, she says the most famous line of the film, *"Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.”* Grimes appears annually at the "It's a Wonderful Life" festival held at Christmastime in Seneca Falls, New York, the town that is thought to have inspired the movie locale Bedford Falls in the film.
