Oh my gosh your home looks AMAZING!!!! I have been decorating little by little. It has been a very stressful year so I am trying to get in the spirit. Back in the 70's to the early 90's my Aunt and Uncle had a ceramic shop and my Mom made the most beautiful things. She made a very big ceramic tree in the 70's and she gave it to me a few years ago! Everytime I go to my Uncle's house I drool over all the ceramic trees he has! One of them is a white 3 or 4 foot tall ceramic tree! I want that thing sooooo bad!

Your house looks great! I haven't had much Christmas spirit this year. I usually decorate the whole house with vintage finds. My daughter always called our house a Christmas wonderland growing up during the holidays. But... my dad just died a few months ago, and all 3 of my children are away in the military this year for the holidays. So, for the first time in a long time, it will be quiet this Christmas. Trying to smile through grief and loneliness is hard, but I know there are those feeling worse than I do. I'm so glad you're having a cheery holiday season. And your kittens are adorable. ❤🎅🎄

What a wonderful collection of vintage Christmas items you have! I chuckled as you described your kitten/decoration struggles, as my daughter got two cats from a shelter this past year, and they are quite fond of her Christmas tree. I helped her move things around so that there are no places from which to leap nearby, and we used some cat-safe spray that's supposed to deter them from an area. So far, this seems to be working. I hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Last year I decorated my Christmas tree with vintage and retro decorations with the icicle tinsel on the branches and bubble lights too I got all my decor from the thrift stores and Facebook Market place, I don’t regret it I actually ended up falling in love with the vintage and retro Christmas so glad I made the switch.

I am so happy for you. You seem in a better place with yourself, with the kittens, and decorating your home. It's so beautiful and I love how you decorated it. I am single live alone had one cat for many years, since living here was lonely, hardships but this year I am in a better place with myself and I am so excited decorating for Christmas. I got another cat (male named Sammy 4years old, and 2 kittens a male Named Tiger the naughty one and female kitten named sweetpea who is a little spicy. kittens are about 12 weeks now and my original cat will be 8 years old this coming summer but she is a very petite cat and all my cats are orange striped cats(I love their personalities). I got my cat some friends because I am busier and then she isn't lonely. I am happier now, have more friends, and a fiance.

Merry Christmas Emily, everything is so adorable!!! I'm so happy you have settled into your cute home. And the kittens are snuggling you now!!!! Some years ago I pared down my Christmas stuff and divided it by colors and themes into clear sweater boxes and did away with the big totes. It is so much more fun now to take down a box here and there and use different things and not get out the giant bins and have to trash my house to rummage through them. And sometimes in the middle of the summer I just look up on the closet shelf and can see all my pretties.

@@emilyretro typically they have full cheeks (which gives the appearance of big heads) due to their high level of testosterone! Once he's neutered, you may notice a slight reduction in the size of his head! I have been doing TNR and caring for community cat colonies for a couple decades now. Love our community kitties!

I'm so happy that you're happy, and the kitties are doing well. Your Christmas decor looks great! You have so many fun pieces. There was a bit of a piece of music that played at the beginning of the video, and again when you showed the felt wall hanging on the wall. It reminded me of my parents. My dad was a pianist/organist, and my mom was a flutist. I remember them practicing that piece, a lot, when I was a kid. They were the best musicians we had at our church. I lost my dad in 2001, and my mom in September. When I heard that small bit of that piece, it was almost like a little shock. But, I loved it. So, thanks for choosing it. Thank you Emily for this wonderful video. I was thinking maybe you can get your dad to help you to make a few fake walls? Something you can put in front of the wood panneling. Maybe like big screens out of 2x2 then staple your vintage sheets on them? Or cardboard and then fabric or vintage wall paper. The big screens you should be able to fit snug between the floor and the ceiling? Or what I would do, because if you are not completely happy with where you live, it kinda eats at you. Just look around for other places to live. No pressure. I remember last time you had a deadline and that is stressfull. But if you are not in a hurry, just looking for whats on the market, who knows what you encounter ;)

Love that you kept them in mind while decorating this year. One thing you can do next year is put up your big tree up early and train them not to climb it before decorating it. Hang in there, Emily. The first Christmas I had without my soon to be ex-husband was hard. But two months later, I met the love of my life and we have been together for 15 years. It will happen to you, I know it. I also had feral cats around where I was living, and one mother cat was black and the other was Siamese. I did manage to catch them both and get them spayed, but not before they had three batches of kittens between them. I get a kick out of you and your babies. Have you been able to trap the mommy cat and get her fixed? Some humane societies can help you with that. Love your decorations!
