Eric, brother, I appreciate the fact that youre a hard working young guy trying to do everything yourself, build yourself something, etc etc. But you really gotta stop wingin it on everything. Take 10 minutes and watch a youtube video on how to properly do something. Otherwise, youre not only wasting your time now doing things incorrectly, youre wasting your future time in fixing it again.

Not a know it all comment but I’d really consider switching the board placement. You want the outside boards all the way to each edge because it’s leaving a void that’ll hold mud/dirt, with no way to sweep it out. Also use the thin edge of ur speed square to make a space between every board. That’ll allow the dirt to fall between the cracks and also water to shed between the cracks. You did a really good job though

Eric, the best way to install the last few boards on a trailer is to bend them into place. You put a couple blocks of wood underneath the middle of the plank, bend the end into place and knock the blocks out from underneath the plank. You want the boards fitting tight front to back.

Erik do not listen to all the haters. But you still have a few more things to do on your deck install. First I would get another 2x8 for the center and that will fix your large gaps.I would get it 16 foot long. Then you cut it where it falls on the cross support. Stick one end in the front c channel and then stick the leftover board in the back c channel. It will reduce the gaps. Then you secure that board to the cross support with self tapping screws where they meet. I would also suggest you use self tapping screws on every board at the back of the trailer. This will make all of your boards secured to the trailer correctly. All the haters do not help you learn how to do things correctly. Keep your head up.
