I currently own a R8 V10 performance, Lamborghini Huracan Evo, Roma, 488 GTB and a 488 Spider. The 488 is in my opinion in a league of it's own, it can do it all and with a 500 eur Capristo valve controller it actually sounds fantastic

The 675LT is a very special car on the limit, McLaren set it up perfectly. I instantly thought of a NSX R, but modding one of those would be like defacing the Mona Lisa Left field option and the one I would go for is a Nissan GTR Liberty Walk, definitely on my lotto list.

Aim is by the time I'm in my 50s, compound interest on investments will have worked their magic. Hopefully I can stay commited! Thank you for the reply, it genuinely is motovating

If you don’t have to own another exotic car - consider getting a good condition (not made anymore so aftermarket only) Subaru WRX STI. I’ve owned a 911 turbo, a bmw m5, and currently have a Porsche gt3. But honestly for the price, practically, exhaust sound and the fun (dirt roads you can fully lock differential for example) it’s the only car that I continue to own- all my high performance cars are “disposable” aka I trade them in for variety once in a while. But that relatively cheap Subi holds a special place in my heart

I would be suggesting buying a classic car to go alongside the fleet, a pre 1983 would cost next to nothing to run annually so additional expenses would be minimised. As for something that is modifiable then it’s choose your poison from Escorts to Minis, MGs to Triumphs, Reliants or even TVRs.

I sold my r8 v10 after 9 years and went into a H perf spyder for 3x the price coz it’s limited and an r8 on steroid. It’s relative cheap to run and I can send it to my Audi mechanics. That’s if u are replacing the gt. But if u want to keep the gt which is limited and has that heavenly v10 sound, it sounds like a GT3 that James suggested would be a good pairing; it’s a better track car than the gt, better handling, doesn’t sound as good but retains value and is cheap to run. A droptop alternative is the 718 spider manual which is already discontinued, but may not feel as special as the gt3. I have been cautious about jumping into faster cars, coz I find it harder to appreciate slower cars after u get used to next tier of power. I learned my lesson from the f430, which I find underwhelming after having owned the r8 for some time. I jumped into the 458 and was very happy, even tho it lost a lot of feel from the 430. But that specialness is fixed after I x pipes it with sport cats and it screams like a f1 car. I then added the scud which holds a candle of its own against the 458 coz it feels special and shifts violently. 675LT is prob better in value retention, but 720s can be had for the same money. Mcs are like way faster Porsches that is pricier to run and loses value with more exotic flair. My only worry with these cars is what’s next? Once u get used to the speed (tune or not) U would be bored with all Porsches and older Ferraris or even all lambos and looks like only a 765LT can fill what’s next, and u lose the window to savor slower, characterful cars. I see this first hand from friends who tuned their 650s or 720s to 800 hp and beyond. Like James I want a lambo v12, slow and handles bad but the sound and design makes it worthwhile. The running costs are no joke, that’s why I m not ready to add it. What a major repair spent in a year is more than what I spent across 5 years over 5 cars. A 570s might be a nice pairing with the gt, cost about the same as Ferrari to run and prices are pretty depreciated. 600lt 720s 765lt has more room to fall. Getting a v12 lambo to replace the gt is ok but I suspect u will end up driving the Z a lot more coz it’s always in the shop for something, mechanic pool is limited also. Besides, the v12 has more room to fall value wise, they made a ton of them. I find 488 extremely ugly, f8 is fine as an in between model perhaps pista is best for the design and perf in that power tier but it’s prob out of the budget. Also, same issue, next would prob be a 296gtb or sf90 which are losing value fast. I currently have perf spyder, scud, 458 and gt3rs I would love to add a v12 (not front engine f12 or 812 coz of the design and inability to put down power safely). Another pairing to the gt is an amg gtr, (blk series isn’t worth the money at 3x) u can get warranties on it and great blend of luxury and perf, not as iconic looking as the SLS but iconic enough than the new gt and retains that amg v8 sound despite the turbos. Lotus Emira and new nsx is also nice pairing to the gt.. even tho neither is super special in any particular category. F type v8 is a lot of car for the money, but that’s prob in between the Z and GT

This is a "Problem" I would very much like to have in my life... I'm going to chuck out a couple of random suggestions that might go in the "as well as" category: Couple of Alfa's; the 4C; rare, kind of forgotten, apparently quite hard suspension, you don't see many around and should be quite a different prospect to the Z and R8. It blows the budget, but the ultimate modern Alfa; the 8C. Expensive as heck but if you want a dream car that everyone has forgotten, it fits that bill. BMW M6 V10. Yes the con-rod bearings but it would sit between the Z and R8; not a sports car, not a super car. Utter inappropriate for commuting. Sounds like it would be too comfortable though. Mods wise, getting them manual swapped is apparently transformative.

Hum…i agree with his feeling: I also drove both and initially was interested in the GTR but then bought the 370z. It’s not to dismiss the GTR at all. It’s just that if you are the type of person who would really love a nice 370z, you tend to be slightly less attracted to the GTR. And then it feels like you can’t have the GTR, you don’t lust for it, even though you also find the GTR to be terrific.

Ahhh, that would be true if it was a normal R8... But, this is a GT... With this edition, they threw the idea of a daily driven supercar out of the window and created something very different. The chassis and engine frame aren't even the same... Has it's own chassis code and comes on ride-height adjustable Bilstein coilovers as standard.

In relation to ride and handling... Yeah, they feel not a million miles apart, both have great grip, feel balanced and rotate centrally, have great steering feel... And, I said my next mod will make the power not far off. As I've driven both, you'll just have to take my word for it 😉
