In the USAF, a "7 Level" is a technician who has mastered their field by putting in time, and testing up to become an expert in their AFSC (Career Field). A "7 Level" Airman is required to inspect and buy off the work performed by a lower level technician. In the civilian sector they are referred to as QA (Quality Assurance) inspectors, but in the civilian sector unfortunately they are not always experts in the field, or have ever even performed the work being performed. Sarah is beyond a 7 level at this point. I work at NASA and I only wish I could get someone with her knowledge and drive.

3 level is gained at tech school graduation (E1-E3), 5 level through on the job training and CDCs (career development course) (E3-E5), 7 level through OJT and CDCs (E5-E6). Easiest way to think about it: 3 level = apprentice, 5 level = journeyman, 7 level = craftsman. There is a 9 level, but it's essentially admin stuff. All the aforementioned are generalities and don't apply to all career fields for enlisted. The officer side is much more confusing.

Hi Sarah, I am an 80 year old mechanic in Australia following your videos with great interest in your abilities and such care and devotion to the automotive craft....It is with pleasure that I watch in awe of the meticulous detail and research you go to on this project.....full marks to you.....I was always rushed by the employers to just throw the service and repair tasks together, just take the money and run style dealership workshops......Later as an automotive trade teacher many of the students looked towards an interesting career but coming back from on the job training became bitterly disappointed seeing the true everyday routine....most leaving for something more fulfilling......Being able to take the time and do the work properly is most gratifying being what I enjoy now on my own projects, even if they take months and years.....watching you through your videos is such a delight to see others enjoy the engineering and thrill of working it all out.......congrats and thank you.....Stefan.

So good to hear it run. Going to be worth the effort. Blue flames from the headers were a good sign. Lets see what the drive shaft ends up being. I remember when Tim at H&H auto parts let me go into the shelves in the back to locate a U-joint that would work on a Firebird that I had swapped a 400 cid 400 transmission for the 350 350 that it came with. I believe it turned out to be a Ford Escort part. Mismatched cups. That was probably 1986. I remember using a 2 bbl not needing or wanting over 300 hp.
