You're the only KZbin channel I can hit the like before I even watch, I used a bunch of your safety tip you've shown on here for setting up my wife's car like collapsible steering, bar below a piller for feet protection, ect. Very informative, great dialog. Thanks for doing this channel.

Helluva guy you are Jason! I hope to meet you one day n shake your hand! Great work ethic and a passion for motorsports and look at you showing others they can do the same thing too! Always a great video Jason, thank you for your time and dedication to us!

Very kind of you sir, I just look at this from a standpoint of "If I was trying to do this myself for the first time and had never done it before, what kind of video would help me to get it done"

Jason we know feeling comfortable in the seat especially in those long races is a win. Like you I spent extra time getting that feeling. Great watching this build.

Yes sir, I have figured out what works well for me and have learned I absolutely hate laying back in a race car LOL

It seems like now that I have done it several times, I kinda "just know where it goes" but I bet if I built a car for a small guy I would feel like I was starting all over and be struggling again to get it right.

I'd recommend adding a down supprt for the rf corner of the main cage... maybe a "j-bar" from the side rail to the rf down tube on the main cage.
@DIRTRACELIFE8 ай бұрын
I know there are a couple that have to go in but still haven't quite got it sorted out. IlMaybe the J bar is the way to go.
@RichFife8 ай бұрын
@DIRTRACELIFE it's simple, fast and easy to replace... I used it on my Metric builds and then on the side of the J-bar I used a ballast clamp and mount my sleeves for the door bars... this way on a hard impact the door bars would bend and the clamps would spin minimizing the J-bar damage which results in less damage to the rf corner on the main cage. Just food for thought, brother.

27:51 It looks like the steering wheel may be too close to your belly. Im a bigger guy too and when i was sitting in my car in regular clothes it felt fine distance wise but when I put on my suit and my harness they were touching/rubbing the latch. It popped my latch off mid race and i had to pull off under green to fix it. wouldn't hurt to take a look at that when you can man. Love the build videos!

When I bought my first SFI5 suit it was like that. It was thick and cut wrong and bunched up on me and made a big bulge behind my belts. I switched to a much better style suit and it is no thicker than bluejeans and fits great. Makes a huge difference. I am MUCH better up on the wheel even if that means I have to adjust that sucker mid season cause I'm stuffin too many Tacos 😉

Know what you mean about rocks and mud hitting you... I started putting rabbit pen screen wire on the windshield bars not only stopped the mud and rocks but it helps from changing so many tear offs because the mud hardly ever covers your face shield and the mud that the screen captures falls off.
@DIRTRACELIFE8 ай бұрын
I was always afraid of it becoming plugged up with mud to the point I could not see.

Jason have you considered clear coating the frame and cage ? That would save you some time !
@DIRTRACELIFE8 ай бұрын
I had not considered clear but I had considered using some single stage in like a Silver grey color for the tubes.
