I like what she said about relatives borrowing, she has limitations, doesn't want them to just rely on her for money, she encourages them to be self-reliant and save, etc. There need to be boundaries and it's not selfish to save and plan for your own future.

The hand-to-mouth mentality in some circles is integrated into the culture. The easiest way to learn is to allocate your income in percentages in terms of what absolutely must be paid monthly and determine what can be saved that month after everything is paid.
@SAMLAMB
@SAMLAMB Жыл бұрын
Yeah,I put about $1000 a month in the joint account for RAZEL to allocate and balance for our spending…bills, and miscellaneous stuff…if you saw our monthly budget video with a monthly bills of about $800 she always ends up with extra cash in the account and that’s the money she puts in her savings…if she goes over it then there’s nothing for her to save…

Sam, u are very smart guy! Please give me one piece of advice how teach gf budget or saving.
@SAMLAMB
@SAMLAMB Жыл бұрын
You have to teach by example. Show her how you do it. Don’t tell her how to do it. No one likes to be told, especially a woman. And assuming you are doing it successfully. Then encourage her to do the same. If she chooses not to do it, give her some time and let her see you succeed and fail. Through success and failure, she will learn what to do and what not to do. if she is willing to watch and listen she will be successful in learning about finances.hope that will help you.

Yep, and if you plan on being with her… she needs to know how to budget, and pay bills and not just spend , spend ,spend…as soon as you can teach her, your life will be easier living in the Philippines with a permanent gf…I actually had a gf who I just started dating 13yrs ago went out and bought herself/us a scooter and thinking I was going to pay for it…she said it was for me and i didn’t even how to drive a clutch at the time..I still don’t lol

Hey Guys , Really great video . I see a lot of Filipina’s in that situation . The husband/boyfriend does all the bills and the Filipina knows nothing about it . Then the guy gets sick and the girlfriend/wife can’t excess any money to help him .
@SAMLAMB

I agree pmags, that why I made the video, before commit to a long term relationship with your gf, you better get her up to speed on the finances..it will make your life a lot easier…if she can’t handle to money, I wouldn’t commit to a long term relationship with her…

If not because of money, what else can you offer the Filipina? Please, do not generalize all Filipinas as there are many who are smarter😮 and more intelligent… I even noticed that somebody whose mother language is English said „excess“ when he meant „access“😂Cheers from a 🇵🇭in Germany.

Hello Sam, I was just in the Philippines two days ago. My Third visit in the last two years. My Filipina Fiancée works a lot and I give her money also every month. She tries to save every dollar that I give Her. But She has a hard time telling people No when They want to borrow money from Her. I told Her my policy for loaning money. I have the $20 dollar friend RULE. If anyone needs more than $20 dollars from Me, They need to borrow it from the Bank. Take care.

Absolutely…always keep your private account separated…I have my private account where my money comes in..and then every month I transfer about $1000 into our joint account for her to pay bills, which it’s around $800 a month. and I also asked Razel to open her own savings account and anything left over from the joint account every month she can move it to her savings…

Sam, speaking of money, if you really decided to live and be buried in the Philippines, don't forget to review your life insurance to make sure that all your kids (if you have any) and Rachel will be the beneficiary not your ex-wife, because surely Rachel will be the one who will take care of you.
