Zemen H I know I’m late to this but Vietnamese moms always spins things negatively, like when I was a child I asked where I came from and she said she picked me up from the garbage. I’m sure Mamma Mai was joking somewhat and she probably saw the show and it was easy to pronounce. Hearing all their name stories was hilarious😂😂 it’s so interesting to hear how some people got their names. When I was born my parents were still undecided on a name so I didn’t have a name for 2 weeks. Most cultures have colorism issues so her comment wasn't a surprise to me. At this point I'm sure Jeannie takes it as a joke and is now comfortable in the skin she's in. I grew up in a house full of darker skinned people so I was always the pale one. Despite the fact we joked about color my mother always taught us self confidence. Although its different I wouldn't change my skin color for anything because that's how God made me.
