The journey is never final; and look at those short relationships as “I’ve gained something from them”….experience in life. Heck - I’m 65 and still enjoying all the different things that life has to offer. Be gentle with self judgement…you are who you are and there is not a single thing wrong with that. You are one of a kind kiddo and I so enjoy these talks ❤

Strong 'independent women' who dont like to be attached to or depended on a man, usually end up becoming the exact thing they don't want to be, emotionally. I found this out too from experience. I always vowed never to rely on a guy and my life was always the most influenced by them in hindsight. And i always found myself to be unstable and losing myself whenever i was in a relationship. And i was never truly happy or feeling whole in them. And now I'm in a place where i know i can always rely and depend on another and deep down i crave to, and now somehow i dont find myself to be controlled by emotions about a man. Anymore. And ive been single for the longest time in my life and its actually been better. We always tend to become the exact thing we fear and try to run away from. Julia and i think i see that in you too.

You are brave! I love how you are just unapologetically yourself all the time. It is why I continue to watch everything you put out into the world. I am happy that you are growing and learning through the ups and downs of life. Every choice we make is what brings us to where we are right now... and even if you thought you made the wrong choice somewhere along the way, that choice may have been necessary for you to end up where you are supposed to be. I believe in destiny, or what others call fate. People come into your life for a reason. Keep living and loving with your whole heart ❤️

Whose the next boy and where are you gonna take them?! Lol sorry to here the boy is out of the picture, must have missed that in another video or something. That apartment is quirky and reminds me of apartments I lived in that had really beautiful elements but were also really dysfunctional or just plain ugly in parts too. The standard of living in hawaii is pretty low for most people because its so expensive. If the rent is cheap I think you've got the bones of a good apartment. If you're there long enough you can improve it little by little. Get friendly with the landlord about making improvements, you'd be surprised what they'll let you do if you provide the labor. I had a landlord that would let me do all kinds of improvements and he would pay for the materials too.

been following you since you had 1.5k subs! this is one of my favorite videos of yours, and honestly i love them all. you're always so honest, kind, and insightful. and you're not alone, i feel like a lot of my bigger steps in life were either with/because of a man, or directly following a breakup. i think it's less about who we are with or that we are with someone, and more that our loneliness is satiated for the timebeing because of said partner, so we feel freer to do and experience other things. or on the opposite end of the spectrum, a surge of more arousing/intense emotions post-breakup will usually spur actions/change of some kind. does that make sense? plus doing difficult things (like travel) is general much easier when you have someone to rely on!

Im curious who the African musician is. On the subject of it's always about a boy. I'm curious if you ever heard the song California by Joni Mitchell. It's a song about her longing to be back in California but I think you'll be able to relate. As somebody who also lived a nomadic life for quite a while I had a time where I thought it was always about a girl. Then I came to the conclusion that I was just very open to everything life had to offer and that included love and intimacy with other people. Did they bring me places did I bring them places was I on their path where they are my path who the heaven knows, but it was amazing and I wouldn't change it. If I did I wouldn't be me now. When I stopped in a place that finally felt like home I also met a woman who felt like home. And I know for a fact the last 22 years have been 50% about her. Even the bad times have been amazing. So for me the moral of the story is sometimes it's about a boy sometimes it's about a girl but it's always about you exploring moving forward learning and loving who you are. If there's love drifting on the breeze sometimes you have to drift with it other times you have to let it blow you away from it. But all the time the constant is you you're always right there right then where you should be. And if there's another boy next month don't be too hard on yourself because God willing they will be another boy next month over whenever you're ready for it. Either way have a beautiful day sister!

I forgot to link the playlist, but it is now in the description, his name is Johnny Clegg! Awe thank you for this comment and sharing, I love hearing peoples stories and the adventures others have been on, it lights my heart up!💛 I am definitely someone that is very open to life and just want the most out of it, so I say YES whenever I can. I just find so much beauty in allowing life to carry me places. If it weren't for that and ( yes another boy lol ) I wouldn't be a KZbinr! I'm grateful all the adventures, love, heart breaks, lessons and beauty this life has offered me so far at the age of 24.✨ Have a beautiful day, I appreciate your support!!

So you’re no longer with the boy that brought you to Africa? I commend you for being honest and transparent. When I was single i made a promise to myself that I will not move for a boy unless we’re already engaged. I came close many times to breaking that promise because I thought he’s the one. By God’s grace and His protection and love for me those relationships ended before I did anything. God had a better plan for me than I ever had for myself and I can’t see that now. I didn’t see that when my heart was breaking but hindsight is the best teacher. Now that I’ve had so many lessons I apply that to anything that now comes my way. When you know God and His character you can trust Him with your life. The best thing I could have done was to love Him 1st which I didn’t, hence all the heartbreak.
