Would be an absolute crime if any of this ended up in a landfil or trash, this persons memories DESERVE to be preserved and enjoyed forever. I bet nobody in those photos even imagined that one day the entire world would be able to access their memories like this. What a world. Take care of it, Peter (and the eventual buyer).

She led a pretty remarkable life to say the least. This stuff needs to be returned to the family if possible or donated to a museum. As far as the ship goes, this is what I found from searching. USS General C. G. Morton (AP-138) was a General G. O. Squier-class transport ship for the U.S. Navy in World War II. She was named in honor of U.S. Army general Charles Gould Morton. She was transferred to the U.S. Army as USAT General C. G. Morton in 1946 There are several photos of the ship online and it looks like a beautiful ship. It was sold for commercial operation as the SS green wave, but sadly with scrapped in 1980. The ship had quite a story in history. It earned three stars for its contributions in the Korean War. It also served in the communist China aggression and the first UN counteroffensive. That was back in the 50s. It was a transport ship Squier class. And held 230 officers and 3300 enlisted personnel.

I just literally found his channel while somehow now I'm watching it quite frequently.. I'm wondering why out of all the other different channels I've subscribed to while still finding myself physically & mindfully going to his KZbin channel which I normally never do.. I actually gave it some thought thinking of the reasons to why I'm so damn interested in taking the initiative to go right to his channel to watch more videos.. I think it's because of his demeanor or personification feathered by his pets being a Parrot & a Cat.. However there has to be some other reasons to why I'm obsessed with his videos online so much.. And ur correct in terms of people who would watch a 5 hour video of him, I unequivocally would be one of them for sure.. Then I wouldn't have to go to his channel clicking on his videos one after another because they are only 18 to 25 mins or so long.. A good irrefutable 5 hour compilation video would be incredible to me as well as others including u..

With the items in the Smithsonian, those items will not only be properly taken care of but will also have much more exposure. I've been fascinated with these videos, Peter. In this depressing time of late-stage capitalism, I find it oddly profound that your business model is essentially complete honesty, and the idea that both parties be ultimately satisfied with the transaction. This is practically never the case with groceries, gasoline, or the electric bill, but it's business as usual in your shop. Also, I love the brief montages with trip hop beats. Good stuff, my man.

That's amazing! So much history and a family member to someone. Would be nice if that could be reunited with the family if possible. Not a money maker that way. A museum of some kind would be great but limited accessible to the albums and all on display. The sad thing is the photos will mean nothing to anyone but the family. Strangers will have interesting pictures but no connections to the actual people. Thanks for a truly great video ! 🏆

@@CCscott Yes. A wonderful lady. Too bad we don't know more about her. Years ago, in the 1980s, we had the opportunity to go into the neighbor's attic to help her clean it out before she sold it. It was built by a gentleman in 1915-16 who I knew when I was a child in the 1960s. We found diplomas from the gentleman and his wife from high school. Letters that we didn't open. A flag from an early Indy 500 and many photos. By the Grace of God, before computers, I was able to locate the son in California. He flew back here and was next door to his childhood home. He got 2 boxes of a family history he thought was gone forever or didn't know existed! Many happy tears all around. I'm still in the home next door. The loving spirit of the family who built that home remained with each of the 4 next owners. The current owner is 98 and has a beautiful family. Hopefully this treasure chest will have a home too.

Literally insane, the amount of detail, the places she has been, the times she has been there, the sheer metiulous level of effort to record every step where possible. This kind of thing is what documentaries are made of, with soo much subject matter and evidence of times and locations, this could easily (as is stated) be "museum pieces". A rarirty beyond measure and it saddens me to think stacks of people will try and claim this for their own with flimsy evidence, I hope It does end up in a safe place.

Ken Burns could make a great documentary film with all that treasure and that would tie the historical and personal together the way it deserves. Other than that I agree with a museum or historical society. I think it should remain intact in order to preserve this great woman’s legacy for posterity and any short term gain that breaks it up would diminish the value of the whole. This is a treasure that should be treasured.
