Peter I believe I have a mouse and keyboard for that iMac. My method for cleaning records especially in the grooves is to use wood glue because it won’t stick to the wax. Basically smear would glue over 100% of the surface of the record and let it set and then you’ll be able to peel it off in one or two big pieces, and it will clean all the grooves of the record .

I'm not 100% sure what the elevator in Chicago had, but I can tell you that super old elevators did have handles that the operator would move to operate the elevator for the passengers. So it's very possible that those 2 handles you have there came out of one of the elevators.

* George Thorogood is best known for his song: Bad To The Bone. * Steppenwolf: sang Born To Be Wild * Three Dog Night: Old Fashion Love Song & Never Been To Spain * Green River album is by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Green River is a fantastic song, but it also has Bad Moon rising on it too. * Golden Earring is a Dutch band from the 70's. With a 60's-early 70's sound imho. * Krokus, it's just okay for an 80's hair band.

i think those two things at the end are weights for something. You said one is 5 pounds, the other 3 or so. Imagine they screw into something and hang upside down. You pull one down and the other one goes up. I don't know what they would control. Maybe something to do with the old elevator...like they'd make the door open and close or something. That's just a guess. If they were beer or soda fountain handles you'd think they'd be the same size, and not so heavy.

I'm a bit worried when I come to the shop next week, theres gonna be a long line, then the store will be full of employees never seen on film. No Peter, no Ruby, and def no Honey. Then when I ask for Peter, they will say "Peter doesn't come in the store anymore, he films at a replica soundstage across town", while they try to sell me a Craigslist Hunter Tee, or poster of the cat with a bandaid that says "Honey Boo-Boo".

Great show Pete! I have always loved records. In my college years (1980-1985) it was so satisfying to go through the process of playing an LP. You trying to get comments? Those LP's you never heard of were some of the most popular of their time! It's not like you grew up behind the "Iron Curtain".

When you pulled out that Led Zeppelin and said thirty five bucks, I couldn't believe it. I have four copies because I use them in my live DJ show. The song When The Levee Breaks intro I use when I do my Beastie Boys scratch routine.

DEFINITELY NOT a beer or soda jerk handle. Those handles are fairly lightweight, even the vintage ones weren't several pounds. I highly believe they could be the tops to switch lever control handles for trains (track lever controls). If they were elevator handles, they'd be semi flat or more flat on one side as to adhere to the wall. Those would protrude too far from a wall for an elevator control handle. JUST MY OPINION & opinion from a retired train conductor as well. Anyhow, that's what they appear to be. Hope that helps in some way! Either way, they're 1,000,000 on the cool factor scale!!!

Being honest and not screwing people over goes a long way in this business. I had a pawn shop who would call me when electronics were broken and would buy it if I said yes. I would give them a percentage more then what they paid. I wish I still lived in that area. Would repair broken eq for them and what I bought. Just a side hustle I would do. Would make tons of money around Xmas time.
