More background on the Naval Cutlass: My friend was in the USCG in ships stores. They received a shipment of those cutlasses from the Navel Arms Depot while they were doing the landings in the Pacific in WW2. He was told that "They heard there was hand to hand fighting there and wanted to be sure the ships crew could defend themselves in close combat". He is dead now, but the one he had was bequeathed to a museum, along with his gun collection. Quite possibly the Coast Guard Museum. IT was in absolute mint condition. I did try to buy it from him, but the arrangements had already been made.

Building colors suggestion - Sage green with black trim. This color combo looks great from the road, certainly is eye catching and something you will enjoy for a long time. The British green is way too dark and will fade over the years,. Get the paint store to help you with locating samples in the sage green and black then paint large area in back of the store. Actually, get the British green as well and give it a try. Something else that you need to know, you are a really nice guy who enjoys your business. It shows so keep up the good work Pete. I used to own a 67 Austin Healy Sprite, and it was painted British racing green with a black convertible top. You could still paint the columns black and the rest of the building the dark green. It will probably look good especially for your kind of store. Also, you are always kind and polite to everyone, even when you know they are trying to scam you. Great example of what customer service is all about, even if it is hard to do.

I'd go with a lighter shade of paint since the darker the exterior color, the hotter it will be inside and your AC will have to work harder. Your building probably doesn't have much wall insulation due to it's age.
