London has become the world’s largest pollution charging area after the ultra-low emission zone was expanded to include the whole of the capital.
TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by the leader of Bexley Council Baroness O’Neill OBE to discuss the expansion of the ULEZ zone.
She says: “It’s appalling, it really is!”
In an interview with the PA news agency, the Labour mayor said: “The vast majority of Londoners want to see clean air and I recognise there are some Londoners with genuine concerns.
“My job is to try and address those concerns and I have been doing that.”

My story is not so personal.... I own a Classic American Police car, lots of history, shown lots of love by myself and the community. The biggest fans of it are the real Police when they see me, 9 times out of 10, they stop to chat and gawp. I am being penalised with the £12.50 charge, for a car that clearly is well maintained and cherished. I am only speaking for myself and others when it comes to modern day classics- which have little to no say in this tax apon our free time Loves... Canadian here living in Germany. What the hell is going on in London. Alright, my apologies for not being a resident, but this is clearly a tax grab. I am from Toronto, Canada, which has one of the worst car commutes in the world. If you did this in Toronto, you would cripple the city because the majority of the people commuting into Toronto can't afford to live there, but won't work there because that's where the majority of work is. You are punishing the people who can't afford this tax, which won't stop better air.

There are countless more cars outside London that fall foul of this dishonest scheme. It’ll discourage casual visitors from doing so. I’ve avoided driving in original zone and will limit my visits to the outer zone to a bare minimum. Changing your vehicle to a compatible one is pointless in the long term as road pricing / rationing is the ultimate goal. And sooner than you realise!
