Surface drive mud motors definitely help, I really enjoy mine. After the hurricane all the rivers around have gone way down. I dig the intro 👍🏼

@@zachfskipper the flat bottom hulls slide corners some but other than that I love it. I enjoy an open layout with removable boxes so I can rearrange depending on what I’m doing

Had one of these on Lake Okeechobee for years and was by far some of the most fun times of our lives . Had a 4/8 foot front window with 12 rod holders to fish Missouri minnows for specks/crappie , awesome catch and clean , quiet , no electric it was awesome . Then people ruined it for everyone with dumping there human waste and they made everyone remove there houseboats .

@@zachfskipper every time weed go out there there was the same gator laying on the porch , we wouldn’t see him again while we were there . Used to set out a fish trap when we would leave so as to have fresh when we got there , one weekend when we got there and pilled the trap there was a dead otter that got in and couldn’t get out so he’d round . Broke my heart and never set that trap again . Our houseboat set on top of a 35 foot deep dynamite hole , catching specks was easy , I’m smiling writing about this , it was wonderful wonderful times , I’m from south Florida and am now since retiring in November 2023 living in brasilia Brazil .

you could just add float pods on the back so it rides higher, so an adjustable jack plate to lift the outboard up

They sell them predator engines at harbor freight for pretty cheap and I know you can buy gator tail kits for em. There’s tons of video about it on KZbin, might be worth checking out

I have a gator tail boat and motor and i love it but my buddy has a gator 40 on a gator trax and that boat turns on a dime. I think that would work well for what you need.

Good video man but curious why don't you build an airboat or at least get a mud motor I watch videos on how to take a harbor freight motor and get a kit and build your own also I will say this man you have got it going on

You could just add a jackplate and keep the Honda. Lot less expensive than getting a new motor.
