The G# note kinda caught me off guard, but it came to me that it might just be a passing note. Y'know, a note that you place in between two notes to make them pass up/downwards? Plus, it kinda adds a bit of character, like an unseen chord.

Ok hear me out... That G# note... leave it... It's sounds beautiful. Do you know why?? It's because it's part from an E7 chord. An E7 chord is a dominant chord for A minor or major chord, the chord you're using after the G# note. That's why sounds beautiful!! To prove this just put a E in the bass with that note and even a B beside that G# note and you'll know what I'm talking about. Composing just with tonic notes is boring with the time. Ohhh finally found why ppl don’t like the G#. Yeah just use notes that are diatonic (in the scale of your track) and long story short, don’t use the 4th or 7th degree of the scale (from the note the scale is named from.) Nice melody anyway! It’s 10 seconds so ofc we’ll focus on that one note lol

If you don’t want to learn theory, here: you are in the key of C major, use only white keys, avoid F and B in the melody. You can totally use that for additional character if you want! Don’t forget that this is a great melody for its uniqueness already!
