North of I-4, no dormancy. You can tell the lawns that get taken care of throughout the year. Those stay mostly green while others go dormant.

could use some of that viridian up here in northeast alabama. i think i have del mar or something that was planted decades ago in my yard. it does ok but can't spray glyphosate on it for sure. i'm glad you were able to replace the palmetto you had. can't wait to learn more about this new variety of grass.

I have Pro Vista turf and while I like the fact that it's glyphosate tolerant, you still have the chinch bug problem like you would in Floratam St. Augustine. I find the chinch bug problem is more challenging than weed infestation. Additionally, there are products on the market now that are safe for Zoysia and St. Augustine weed and Bermuda grass control. Cobalt St. Augustine looks promising, but not readily available in Florida.

yes for sure, whoever comes up with bug resistant turf will make millions. As far as the removal of bermuda from other varieties of SA and Zoysia, the product Recognition must be mixed with Fusilade to work, and even then, I have found that the bermuda is back in about 3 months. That's an expensive and time consuming mix to be spraying multiple times per year whereas gly is cheap and easy and works better IMO.

Two things about your video. . . I know you were trying to hide it, but it appeared like the mower that wouldn’t start was a Honda HRN216? If true did you make sure the gasoline shut off valve was on? I forget that on mine all the time. About your lack of a lawnmower endorsement. . . have you considered contacting Greenworks commercial or Kress? Both appear to be great mowers, and both are, of course, electric. I’m not sure about Greenworks Commercial, but I know Kress was fairly aggressive about getting the word out about their products.

Give it a good month to get established. Bahia will not like the incoming cold spell so it may go dormant - if it does, just keep watering at least 1x per day until it warms up again and gets rooted.

no fertilizer right now, no micros either. Once you start mowing every 7-8 days then you can start fertilizing again but for now just let it ride and keep it irrigated like you have been.
