@daveaglasgow2 жыл бұрын
Yeah don't see a problem here, the person was changing lanes while the bike was passing moving traffic further back. The law is not clear on motorbikes passing between slow moving traffic, but you are allowed to change lanes if you are in a car. The bike was quite far back when it started changing lanes, the driver may have looked and not seen the bike. In my opinion bikes often go too fast between two lanes of slow moving traffic, and it is often deemed to be the biker at fault in these situations when something happens. In the past I have had bikes pass me when sitting in traffic at 30mph in a 40mph limit. That is asking for trouble.

@@Sorbzski99 I didn’t say they couldn’t, i said “there’s no way the cars could have anticipated” A lot of our drivers are pensioners doing their shopping. It’s on everyone else to slow down to their speed, because the right to drive should be above the right to drive fast. There would be no way someone at say, 79 years old popping down the shops could have seen/anticipated. It’s on bikes to slow down, not for other motorists to finely attune their senses to motorbikes. Limiting the acceleration and top speed of these vehicles is the only way i think. Nobody needs a superbike, and we are supposed to believe people buy them to “ride safely” which is Bs. @@RaferJeffersonIII this is an incredibly dangerous attitude. Awareness and anticipation are fundamental parts of driving, car and motorcycle. Yes, a lot of the bikers are at fault too, but the car drivers have a greater responsibility given the fact they pose the greater threat in any accident.

@@cthulhstu absolutely not. It’s victim blaming to assume pensioners should be aware enough to keep up with the many, many bikers on super bikes speeding. What do you want, grannies can’t stay on the road because you want to ride your bike fast? Honestly, fk this attitude. You don’t NEED to speed and weave. You can drive slowly, can’t you? Grannies do NEED to get around. Mothers with kids need to go to school. People like me need to get to meetings. I’m super bike aware but I’m fed up with all this SMIDSY BS, stick to the limits, drive within yourself and try to be aware of cars is my advice. They are bigger than you, it’s on you to judge it and not blame everyone else. Bikers seem to want a world where the car is in the wrong on a drive facto basis. Bike going fast? Your fault. It just slows traffic even further. The person in the car clearly wasn't paying attention. What difference does beeping at them gonna make. Had to comment. I'm about to get into biking, but I have to say I can't remember seeing a bike on the road in the last 6 months, it's so rare in the UK. Half of the riders in these clips are self-entitled. Unfortunately, due to the low number of bikes on the road, people do not look out for them. Even when I wasn't into biking, I'd do my best to let motorcyclists filter, give them room and let them overtake - but doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. Drivers are not used to seeing bikers, something I learnt more and more in my car advanced driving course. Most bikers in these videos have not picked a lane, overtaking on both sides, assuming people have seen them, assuming everyone else knows the highway code back to front, and that everyone else must stop. Unsafe filtering, sneaking up on drivers and hanging around their blind spots. The amount of vehicle in view is not huge for a bike, a car may not be looking for a 2 wheeler due to the nature of bike numbers in the UK. Everyone has the opportunity to prevent an accident regardless of who's fault it may be, keeping good distance, passing with distance, assuming people have not seem you, minding your speed, driving in the center of the lane, wear some reflective gear, make yourself be seen rather than assuming you've been seen. Don't get angry just because someone didn't see you then rage ride, hit mirrors and loose your own balance. You have to adapt yourself for the environment you live in and take responsibility of your own safety. It's all good blaming the other people after an accident, but if you could have done something about it, then you can start by blaming yourself. No doubt, some terrible observing and driving from car drivers, even as a car driver you have to watch out for numpties, but as a biker, you really have to take your safety into your own hands. Happy, safe riding, stay up right!

FOR EVERYONE WHO DOESNT UNDERSTAND WHY FILTERING IS SAFER THAN SITTING IN TRAFFIC The most common accidents on the roads are rear end shunts at speeds below 20mph. In those incidents, the cars are barely damaged and a lot of the time the shunt isnt bad enough to deploy the airbags. The car occupants are often never injured at all either, due to the cage like structure of their vehicle protecting them. However, when a motorcycle is in the middle of a couple of 2 tonne stationary metal objects (aka cars), I dont even need to explain how the results can be devastating. As the old saying goes, dont get stuck between a rock and a hard place. Hence why it is most safe for a motorcyclist to be positioned inbetween slow moving or stationary vehicles. With the whole incident with the goggle-eyed entitled dummy at 5:00, the motorcyclist moved inbetween and infront of the vehicle is his lane and in clear sight of the stationary driver just to his 8 O'clock. The motorcyclist was in the safest possible position he couldve been at those traffic lights. Goggle-eyes made it dangerous by then proceeding to undertake the motorcyclist. Car drivers shouldn't get entitled and think "oh, if a motorbiker can do it, I can do it back". Doesnt work that way im afraid. Cagers will be Cagers
