Best Star fish fishermen on youtube. You'd have made a killing if there was a market for them on that haul.

My uncle, who has been gone for a while now, was a commercial fisherman and a practical joker. He was also my dad's fishing buddy growing up. Whenever we go saltwater fishing and are having bad luck, or strange things are happening, we blame it on Uncle Jimmy lol.

Hey guys my dad was a long liner before he became a pipe fitter. He worked on the Alaskan pipeline. I find myself hoping for a fish for you guys after every hook. I wish you luck in the future and I always root for you guys. It’s so nice to see you fishin with your dad bud. God bless and stay safe

The Fish Tale is a really neat boat. I am glad you guys plan to keep her and use her for special applications after you start fishing with the EI. I know what you mean about fishing vs catching. Either way it is always nice to see you guys fishing. I have watched you so much I know I would be a good mate. My problem is, I get seasick at the drop of a hat. Thanks for taking me along.

For sure, phil! We love our little Fish Tale. Dad and I are lucky enough to not get sea sick, Mom and Tristen can bear some weather but when it gets gnarly they’ll start feeling it.

I had the worst time getting my 3A caught this year. My lb-per-hook was half what it was last year, and that was half the year before. Something is afoot, and it's not good.

When taking the hook and Ganyon from dad, have you stripped the old bate off and thrown the hook and ganyon overboard?

I think I threw a fish with the hook still in it once. Not a de-baited hook, though.

Not too often because sandy bottom usually has a lot of skates. We typically set on hard, rocky, or muddy bottom.

What type of bait do you use? Here at app. 70 degrees north latitude in Norway, mostly frozen herring and mackerel are used. My experience is that fresh herring gives the best average halibut catch per hook.

We’re all over the place, really, 10-80 fathoms which is 60-480 feet. We’ve found our best fishing a bit deeper it seems like.
