I actually get excited when I get them. lol love love, love using a lacet, opening up the top, and Pop, they come right out! If coarse cleaned, gloves, all new supplies!

Can you tell us what an actual lancet is and where one can get them. And does the lancet itself also open the top of the milia or do you need another tool for that and what that tool is. Thanks for your help! I’d love to be excited about removing my milia too. Lol!

I have one on my nose and one on my upper lip, but my dermatologist refused to remove them since they weren’t cancerous. Since she refused to even hear out my reasons for wanting them gone, I’m currently shopping for a new dermatologist, which stinks since I’ve had the same one for 20 years. Hopefully I’ll find one as good as you, but I’m not holding my breath!

Are you in the US? Did you check with your insurance to make sure they’d cover it? Because I’m pretty sure it falls under cosmetic, so you’d need to pay out of pocket. If that’s why she won’t do it and she didn’t explain that, that’s really crappy bedside manner since she could’ve tried a pre auth. But normally insurances only allow for dermatologists to treat acne as popped white heads are open wounds at risk of infection, and only allow removal of either painful or cancerous spots. If you tell her they hurt when you touch them, she probably can get it through insurance. She’d have to send each away for cancer testing but it’d give a legitimate reason for removal. Or you can see what it’d cost out of pocket.
@Lorrainecats10 ай бұрын
Probably an insurance thing. They might consider it cosmetic.
@kittylynndale526410 ай бұрын
Insurance will cover it (they’ve done so in the past), the doctor just refuses to do it. Her clinic was leaning more into the cosmetic side of dermatology before 2020, but now they’re not even taking new patients unless they’re also coming in for fillers/laser treatments/coolscultpting/etc, so I’m guessing this is their way of getting rid of patients like me who don’t use those things. I’m usually only there 2x/year for mole checks, so I’m not really the kind of patient who will bring in tons of money compared to the cosmetic side.

That's such a shame! My dermatologist has "burned them off" for me a couple times over the years and filed it with insurance in a way that it was covered. I never regretted having them removed, I guarantee you won't either!

@shaynak745 Everything I use can all be found at your local drugstore(Walmart, Target, CVS, etc.) I use a Retinoid serum always! And a serum is the best way to deposit an ingredient into your skin. I use the L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Retinol Serum. Some other ones I've used that are also amazing are Neutrogena Retinol Serum, and Walmarts own brand Equate makes a Retinol serum as well that's a lot cheaper than the others I've mentioned and is really great too! If you have sensitive skin or you're fairly new to using a retinoid then getting the Differin Gel 0.1% Adapalene (also sold at Walmart) is perfect! It's also a retinoid but it's actually a bit stronger than typical OTC Retinols yet it's still good for sensitive skin since it's technically an acne medication. But it still works as using it as a Retinol serum. I've used that for a long time now and it's also alot cheaper than most products(it's also really great if you have really dry skin like I do because it won't dry out your skin as badly as most Retinols do) I also always use a Hyaluronic Acid Serum too. You can never go wrong with HA. It works with every skin type and sensitivity and is a naturally producing compound our body already makes. I use the LOreal Paris Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Another HA serum I've used and loved was the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Serum. It's also a bit cheaper than LOreal. In my educated opinion, those two ingredients are must-haves in most people's skincare routine. They're also a power couple together. Using just those two types of serums together has done wonders for my sun-damaged, aged, mildly acne-scarred skin! It's also made me super motivated to keep up with my skincare as I know how much good it will do. So, there ya have it lol. Sorry for the long comment but I wanted to be clear and detailed when responding as I know how difficult it is to sometimes decipher someone else's explanation. Hope it helps! I've also introduced other products into my skincare routine now that I absolutely love if you want to know about those too. Anyways lol 😊

I’ve just popped them myself. I have a big one by my eye and I haven’t popped it yet. It got bigger when I tried to open it up and pop it. Or if they’re small, I just scratch them out. Unless they’re deep under the skin, then I leave them.

Can you please talk about scalp psoriasis and how to treat it? I've tried everything, including this new foam Zoryve treatment, but I still have bad plaque. 😞
@AutumnPizzicato10 ай бұрын
Ugh, that's the worst. I used to get that in high-school. Now it's calmed down into just really bad dandruff. I've tried everything, even those awful coal tar shampoos that smell so bad. (No idea if those work. I couldn't stand the smell and stopped using them) I feel for you my friend.
@BubblesBulldog10 ай бұрын
If topical over the counter treatments aren’t working you may need to get actual medication to treat your psoriasis from the inside. Also eating clean and drinking plenty of water is hugely important to clear skin. An anti inflammatory diet might help when it’s really bad. Stress also can trigger it. I’ve had many years of scalp/skin struggles myself, and I’m a retired hairdresser as well, so I’ve tried so many different things, and I still have breakouts of plaques. Even when I have it under control I have a very dry scalp. If your doctor gives you a perscription shampoo a trick to help it work better is to wash your hair with your regular shampoo first to get your hair clean like you normally would. Then with the medicated shampoo only wash your roots and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then rinse and condition. I hope this rambling is of some use to you to make you more comfortable, and that you figure out the right combo for you.

I got some milia around my lash line after using retinol. Then I read you shouldn’t put retinal on the soft skin around your eyes so I stopped. I’m so confused!! Should I start using it around my eyes again? My skin got so red and irritated and flaky when I did. Unless it wasn’t milia. But it was little tiny white bumps.
@paisana93789 ай бұрын
why would you continue with such side effects???!

@@paisana9378maybe I’m doing it wrong or something. I’ve heard it both ways. Some say use retinol around your eyes and some say don’t do it. It’s so confusing! There’s also different strengths and brands. Maybe there’s a milder formula for eyes or something than what I’ve been using. I’m just looking for advice from an expert!

@@El_BI think if it is irritating in those areas be careful putting it there. A Korean skincare called something of Josean makes an eye retinal cream with ginseng. That may help you grow more used to the other. It isn’t expensive and will last a long time

As far as Ik, there’s only one way and that’s to cut it out. I couldn’t do it. I can to myself but not on someone else, especially a child under the eye. You can consult with a dermatologist but they’d most likely to say it isn’t harming her and just leave it be
