Legend of Korra walked so She-Ra, Owl House, Steven Universe and other cartoons with LGBTQ characters now could run! Together with Meesh, I held Korrasami so much closer to my heart because back then, I can't vocalize how that ending scene affected me and I've decided from then on (when it still wasn't confirmed) that Korra and Asami became a couple in my heart and in my head, and no one will take that away from me. People will think, oh they are just close friends... But for me they were not and I'm fine living in that head canon. HAHAHA! Thank you for reacting to this show, and loving this as much as I love it too. This series introduced me to you guys and I'm happy that I was there since day 1! Personally, I enjoyed LOK more than ATLA It is not only the fact that it took a deeper dive into steampunk (which I loved), but also because of the higher level of maturity, depth and the fact that it didn't have to live in the shadow of the original to be great It is just like "Ben 10: Alien Force" or "The Prisoner of Azkaban" Plus, it is easier for me to identify with young adults than children

It's been expanded on a ton in the comics and the lack of romance has generally been accepted as a product of when this show came out. If it aired today, I imagine we'd have way more detailed confirmation.

I just want to say thank you so much M&D for these reaction videos (that I love watching right before I go to sleep every night) and being there since the beginning of Korra it's surreal to know the journey here has already come to an end. Korra is truly one of my favorite TV shows because it truly showcases how life is one big bumpy ride as Tenzin stated at the end, and how you're able to learn and get back up from obstacles and whatever is pushing you down. You guys should really read the comics, Turf Wars picks right up after the ending where Korra and Asami are on vacation in the spirit world (and yes, in the comics they really make Korrasami official!) and after that you also got Ruins Of The Empire where they focus a lot on Kuvira’s backstory and also Korra’s partnership with Prince Wu to make the Earth Kingdom more independent. I don’t remember in which one it was but I believe Zhu Li eventually becomes president of Republic City and Varrick is really supportive and being a good husband to her! There are so many little storylines for every character in these comics, it’s nice to still have that now the show’s ended! Both comics are really enjoyable but I understand it would probably be difficult to make a reaction video for that, so if you guys are interested I would definitely recommend reading it for yourselves so you still get a chance to see what happens afterwards!

I'm still hoping that we'll get a prequel series that shows the lives of the 6 named Avatars who came before Korra & Aang; Roku (Fire), Kyoshi (Earth), Kuruk (Water), Yangchen (Air), Szeto (Fire), & Salai (Earth). I like how the novels & comics have given them more backstory, but I want to see more of each of them in an actual tv show.

It could be a coincidence, but Korra vaguely resembles young Katarra. Aang looks a little like Roku's wife in facial features. There is a theory that the next avatar will look like Asami. Also in the comics, President Raiko loses his reelection bid to....Zhu Li. I like to think her campaign posters said "Do the thing! Vote for Zhu Li!"

I LOVE the friends to lovers arc asami and korra have and it feels way more satisfying to me than if they just got together at the beginning. The messy love triangle means so much to me now because of how much realistic development all of them get out of it. Korra and asami walking into a shared spiritual journey holding hands shows a lot of maturity when compared to how impulsive and attraction-based their previous relationships started.

I related so much to the story/experience Meesh told because I related very much to that. It was pretty much the same for me. Korra and Asami actually really helped me realize and come to turn with my sexuality. I was pretty much obsessed with their relationship after watching the final episode (let's be real the last scene) for like a 100 times and I also really enjoyed the comics.

I always liked how each season tackled a different political ideology with its respective villains. Amon from season one represented communism or Maoism through his ideology of forced equality. Unalaq in season two represented religious zealotry and extremism when he leveraged spiritualism to start a civil war. Zaheer in season three tackled anarchism with his toppling of the Earth Queen. And Kuvira in season four represented fascism and totalitarianism, with her ruling with a heavy hand and rallying her people for war through jingoistic rhetoric.

If I remember correctly, one of the reasons Korrasami was such a subtle build in s4 is bc the creators weren’t sure Nickelodeon would ok it, so they wrote the majority of the season in a way that Korra and Asami’s relationship could be seen as really good friends. But when they were getting to the last few eps, the creators decided they really wanted to make Korrasami canon, so they had to really fight for Nickelodeon to accept it. In the end Nickelodeon only oked the ending we got, but the creators purposely had Korra and Asami pose at the end holding each others hands, mirroring Varrick and Zhu Li during their wedding, to show that the relationship was indeed romantic

Loved your whole journey and I really liked the subtleness in the story as well even tho I know it was because they couldn't show much for a "kids show" I think it made it for a great ending for everyone cuz maybe they were like me straight niave girl as it went right over my head and I thought awww their such good friends some needed girl time lol. But people who understood it felt seen and connected to the story. And rewatching it as an adult I can really see the building toward it and it makes complete since to me now, it's kinda hard not to fall for Asami honestly.

When you both share the same ex… I like that they just hold hands. I think it’s on point with the story that at this point they realise the have feelings for eachother. But I think the deeper romantic feelings still need to develop, and what better place to do so then a two person vacation in the spirit world.

Korrasami isn’t perfect BUT it’s one of those ships and shows that rly paved the way for a lot more LGBTQIA+ representation and they showed what they could have on TV at the time so we love and respect Korrasami! Glad you guys liked it so much

What Meesh said about the finale is so real! At the time tlok was aired I didn't had nickelodeon, so for me Steven Universe was the equivelent of watching this ep. Tlok and Steven Universe truly created a path for queer representation in children cartoons and it made such an impact in lots of people. Tlok last season didn't air on nickelodeon at the time and their relationship wasn't that explicit, but it was enough to change things. And months after that SU aired the 2nd half of their season 1 which was another huge win. Not to mention SU other seasons! After Nickelodeon and CartoonNetwork it was only a matter of time before Netflix and Disney allowed queer representation :)
