les Shadows : mes idoles depuis 1966 !!!! époustouflants de talent ! l'osmose avec CLIFF est toujours excellente .

How time passes the people in this film most of them must be around the same age has I am now in the 70s now but it was the best time to be grown up back then the music was fantastic and things we less of a problem

In their eighties now Cliff and the Shadows!

Cliff is 83, Hank (lead guitarist) is 82 and the Drummer Brian Bennet is 84. The keyboard player Alan Hawkshaw died in 2021 and the bass player, legendary John Rostill (who also wrote 2 songs that has been performed by Elvis Presley) died in 1973 at the age of 31.

Hank is a genius. He can even play the intro with no hands

Yes only the vocals are live ,cuts a pre recorded track done earlier in the day , quite common back then , look at Brian on the drums , he has trouble starting and finishing too , it's quite a tricky medley to mime to , to be fair

Who’s playing the other guitar on move it ?
@MrLaydownsallyАй бұрын
5:35 classic clapping on the off beat by the audience, clapping to the melody instead of the beat. It woud be off putting but cliff is singing to a pre recording , Mr Bennett realises
@peterchecksfield9958Ай бұрын
They must be using a backing track (or an off-stage extra musician), as a rhythm guitar can be clearly heard behind Hank's lead.
@theshadmadАй бұрын
I think it's backing track don't no why they would mime

Irrational, maybe - but I hated Hank playing Baldwin and Burns. Didn't seem right!
@Dragondave1000Ай бұрын
Interesting, I have always loved the sound of the Burns guitars and the superb tri sonic pickups (and own three). A great shame when Baldwin bought them and replaced the name on their guitars.
@rogerfairhurst8705Ай бұрын
@@Dragondave1000 The pickups on the Burns (and Baldwin) Marvins were REZ-O-MATIK not Tri-Sonic and almost exact copies of the Fender single-coils found on the Strat.

@@rogerfairhurst8705 I know My Marquee has Rez-o-matik ( great pick ups any way )but my nu sonic , spilt sonic and Bass are all Tri sonic. All as good as the Strat (imho)

Guitars aren't the problem, lack of echo is, for Wonderful land, especially 😮 Even the extensive use of the volume pedal? can't help it

@@peterchecksfield9958Yes I bought it and it was dreadful. The Shads hated it too but Cliff's management released it because this was pre- I'm Nearly Famous and his career was on a downward path. That's a Strat on Wonderful Land not the Burns he's using here.

Les Shadows se sont séparés en 69 avant de se reformer plus tard, d'où l'absence de Bruce Welch. C'est un des piliers du groupe. Jamais égalés
