Every five moons you send a cat in a solo patrol, and if they die, they have fed the Woods. Also All apprentices must go on a solo patrol on their first moon as an apprentice.

Oh, and a quick explanation since I remember seeing this before. The regular ranks do not know there are bad things(?) in the forest, iirc. The Secret Keeper/Leader knows of this and chooses their successor in which the deputy/secret keeper’s apprentice learns of this during their deputyship. The Protector of Secrets is also aware of this information. And I think there are some other rules regarding medicine cats but I can’t remember fully.

My autism is forcing me to write this: The leaves rustle in the shallow wind. Droplets of dew splatter against the ground, piercing the unnerving silence with its sharpness. The silence... It's silent. No birds, no mice... Where did the rustle of the leaves go? The woods have silenced. The only sound to be heard are your paw steps against the ground covered in damp leaves. You feel as if your throat is constricting, and your stomach feels full of maggots trying to escape. Your body is wailing, screaming at you to leave.

this one's probably my favorite clangen mod. I like the creepy theme and just the stakes feel higher. When i played at one point i had 6 cats left. The leader (Cedarstar) had a twisted leg. The deputy (Skyshade) was going blind. There was three medicine cats. (eventually i changed one to a warrior) and one warrior. There was also an elder (Freezepelt). Eventually there was more cats. Once there wasa litter of four and three of them got killed on their trial. it was a roller coaster

I think Flowertiger had romance in another clan but got into a fight just before the kits were born, and took the kits and killed their mother

Or maybe it was with a loner who refused to let the kits go with him because she mistrusted HollowClan and he killed her to take the kits.

When you mentioned not add a mediator I remembered how i never add one, though if it helps cats get along better or have more positive relationships ill consider doing it, but anyway as someone who absolutely loves dark/horror/brutal things i really enjoy this challenge! Its making me wanna write a story or make an oc with a similar setting, heck this challenge is probably one ill try for myself when i have the motivation to!

Id be interested to see more! I think this series would highly benefit from you reading the entire challenge, it could provide a lot more ideas to connect possible lore to the cats thoughts and patrol stuff rather than striking out blind.

I've actually gone back and found the post on the discord, and I'm gonna be keeping the original rules in a notepad while I record in the future. Unfortunately, if there's any fully expanded lore, I can't find it, so I'm working with what's on the post and trying to put my own eldritch spin on it as I go.

1. i just realised that Yellowpaw was 6 moons old so that’s probably why everyone was thinking of her 7:48 2. the reason that in the rules it says that the deputy/secret keeper’s apprentice has to be a young adult is because their deputyship is more like learning to be the full secret keeper, also the mod makes it so that the secret keeper & their apprentice can’t go on patrols (in the rules it says that the secret keeper & their apprentice aren’t allowed on patrols) 10:33 3. i think the reason Stemstalk was glaring at Houndtooth was because he knows that Houndtooth could take his job, that Tawnystar could demote him & replace him with Houndtooth. 15:11 4. i personally choose to sacrifice/feed the woods cats that act out against the leader (i’ve gotten a timeskip message that says that cat A defied the leader so then the leader gets cat B to attack cat A & that all the cats were injured so then next time that cat A can go on a patrol it’s a solo border patrol that i click proceed on no matter what) and if i want this to be a good clan cats that are bloodthirsty, vengeful, dark forest affiliation/connection, etc, but if i want it to be an evil clan then i’ll sacrifice cats that are loving, compassionate, connection to Starclan, etc but if i want it to be more in the middle then i just assign each cat a number then use a random number generator (i don’t number the leader & deputy, if the medicine cat has a fully trained apprentice or mostly trained apprentice then one of them will have a number. just to try to make sure we have a medicine cat at all times) wow this comment is long
