It feels like it's been forever, but it looks like we're back with Clan gen. (: I'm not sure if my file for AspenClan still exists, so I will be looking for that as well. I'm hoping to get into all the new aspects of Clan gen over time and see what has been updated.

I find it poetic that on the same moon the massacre happened, Rainstar was hoping for a sign from StarClan, which was currently only populated by the StarClan guide - Floodpaw - who seemingly tried to contact Rippleshadow, the medicine cat (a prophecy seeker who had been hearing voices from StarClan cats). The doomed cats' blurbs foreshadowed their eventual fates, narratively speaking. Silentbark, the deputy, tried to encourage the older cats to teach the younger generation as much as they could. (while they still can, is the unspoken meaning.) Perhaps in response to this, Limedrift spent their last moon alive being a good example for younger cats: which, at 101 moons, included every single other cat in the Clan including Silentbark herself. It must have made some difference, because both Rainstar and Darkfern tell fond stories about them at their vigil. Elmbee was sparring with other Clanmates, which might have been what bought Floodpaw enough time to escape. The survivors have uncertain blurbs - Rainstar hoped for a sign from StarClan that she wouldn't receive a personal answer from, maybe not until she met them during her revival in Silverpelt. Floodpaw wondered if he could swim: one could compare being caught up in a flood and nearly drowning a feeling very similar to being cornered by bloodthirsty rogues who just slaughtered three of your Clanmates and leader and barely managing to escape with your life. Floodpaw will end up particularly traumatized by this event, and Rainstar loses a life in the battle, so neither escape unscathed. The other, surviving cats don't have happy blurbs, either. Darkfern wanted to speak with the medicine cat, so maybe he had some sort of bad gut feeling and wanted to speak with her, only to be unable to speak up while hunting for ragwort. He would end up becoming deputy, ironic for an insecure individual. It was a good political move, though - Darkfern did save another Clan's kit from a large dog at risk of his own life. Poor Darkfern probably wishes he had been there to do the same for his Clanmates against the rogues. Raggedtalon entertained the only apprentice, Floodpaw, with tall tales and stories: it would be the last time he saw him before the incident, before the trauma started haunting the young cat's eyes. Fogstem, being insecure and made a warrior a moon early, seemed to be considering running away and becoming a kittypet. As for the battle itself: it seems like StarClan tried to intervene, but maybe the spirit Floodpaw's influence could only protect the living Floodpaw from the claws of the bloodthirsty rogues. You mentioned that the black-spotted apprentice was probably named after the StarClan guide: maybe this action protected them in some metaphysical way? (Obviously not, in the code of the game, but story-wise.) Or maybe his good climber skill came in handy and he managed to scale (or be pushed up) a tall enough tree that he was safe. He would have seen his leader, deputy, and two experienced warriors fall to their claws. At least Rainstar was able to revive, probably after the rogues left in either pursuit or victory. I can only imagine how terrible it would be for poor Flooddrop if he didn't have anyone to talk about the encounter with. I find that Rainstar honored Flooddrop's compassion to be reassuring towards them both regarding any possible survivors guilt. "I honor Flooddrop of HorizonClan for their compassion, for I want all cats of this Clan and StarClan to know how much they care for their Clanmates", that sort of thing. Charismatic is a really good trait, and all of the imparted traits - loyalty to the code, strong morals, problem-solving, climbing - indicate that he'll be a fantastic warrior for HorizonClan. If he survives, of course. ClanGen is cruel sometimes. I am not surprised that Fogstem grew up bloodthirsty. He'd been considering kittypet life right before half the Clan was slaughtered in a bloodbath caused by outsiders: outsiders who cannot be called out at a Gathering, who will not be exiled or questioned or held to the warrior code as they would be if they had died in a border skirmish. A large dog can be fooled and ran off: the rogues will be difficult to track down, much less wipe out or permanently scare away without them re-gaining the upper hand against the now-weakened Clan, or starting a cycle of revenge. The rogues were precise, coordinated, and absolutely merciless: I could see Fogstem becoming bloodthirsty as a coping mechanism; Rainstar instilled an avoidance for violence into him, so maybe the bloodthirstiness is reserved for the rogues who killed his Clanmates? If Fogstem ever gets a chance to take revenge, by getting scarred battling rogues or perhaps surviving a similar encounter, maybe their trait would change, or maybe he'll be able to put that desire aside and find peace another way. It's appropriate that Darkfern was practicing battles with the warriors: they'll want to be prepared if anything similar happens again. It was sweet of him to pray for the poor deceased kittypet; it seems he has a lot of respect for even cats outside the Clan. It's notable that Raindrop really seems to like most of the cats in the Clan, but none of them have above 20/100 like for her, except for the mutual platonic bond she now shares with Flooddrop, probably due to said trauma bonding. It seems like a lot of cats seem to think little of Rainstar, with the deputy even disliking her. The medicine cat practically platonically loves Darkfern, though. I could see a coup in the future if Darkfern weren't insecure; maybe if he stepped down and someone else took the seat. I find Fogstem and Flooddrop's relationship cute. Fogstem wanting to take brutal revenge on the rogues who slaughtered half his Clan and traumatized his dearest friend and mutual crush. I hope the two live long and and adopt many kits. Flooddrop playing with a kittypet the moon after may be a mutual friend - why else would Fogstem have been wondering about kittypet life the moon before if he hadn't recently met or heard about one? Rippleshadow seems to have comforted or otherwise been paying attention to Flooddrop ever since the incident. Is there some sort of prophecy? 'A torrential rainstorm leads into a flood', or something? It's also funny that Flooddrop was chosen randomly when you noticed that medicine cats pick up herbs on timeskips (if you check the log on the medicine cat page, you'll see if your medicine cats picked up any herbs! I think they can pick up 0-3 per timeskip, but I usually don't get as lucky as you) and chose to send out only one cat along with Rippleshadow. I really enjoyed this video! I hope the Clan isn't wiped out over leafbare. Either RainFlood or FogFlood would be a really cute ship, and I feel like Flooddrop radiates serious main character energy. On that note, please go through the StarClan cat blurbs sometimes! It would be nice to see what they're thinking the moon after they die. Could give you some prophecy ideas! Hope to see more of this in the future.

So glad to see you back with a new Clangen series!! A couple notes about clangen and settings: -40 moons is (I believe) the max age gap for romantic interactions to happen naturally, even with romance between mentors/former apprentices on -settings can be toggled for individual cats under their "personal" tab. You can prevent specific cats from having kits this way (particularly useful if you have kits with no second parent on), and you can limit romantic interactions (useful if you don't want a specific cat from a couple to cheat or have a poly relationship)
