Peter Mutabazi founded Now I Am Known, an organization that supplies resources to support vulnerable children. Originally from Uganda, Peter ran away from an abusive home at age ten and lived as a street kid for nearly five years. Today, Peter is a single dad to countless foster children and his adopted children, Anthony, Ryder, and Skyler.
Every child deserves a space like home-a sanctuary that echoes their unique spirit and aspirations. Through our Surprise Bedroom Makeovers, we transform the rooms of foster kids and teens into personalized havens of comfort, joy, and belonging. Because when a child feels seen, they feel known. And when they feel known, they shine.
As an African-immigrated citizen AND a former foster child himself-Peter provides educational, inspirational talks on foster care, adoption, child advocacy, and parenting. Peter has overcome a variety of life challenges, and he encourages listeners to love those around them and choose to see the hope in their stories.

I like Luke's haircut. I noticed that Isabella is learning how to take care of her hair and I think Maddie helps her as well. The best gift is a book because sometimes the kids need activities that aren't so stimulating. I can tell everybody is very grateful even though Luke is sometimes hyper, I can still tell by his smile and his excitement and his thank you. Isabella is so much like you in that she expresses her feelings so very well. She's a very smart girl as are the rest of your kids. When Maddie got her first two gifts she said a quiet thank you off camera but I noticed when she came on camera she had a grin on her face and she was smiling the whole time so I know she's very grateful as well. And of course you are Peter because you express yourself so well. It's very nice to see their appreciation. It's nice to see you blessed because although you have a nice home, it's very very expensive to raise children.
