I Loved Jim Croce and was in High School at the time of his death and sat in the parking lot crying for 2 hours. Jim, John Denver & James Taylor were my music influence to sing and play the guitar and got me hired at Disney World back in 76. Jim Croce was AMAZING. It would have been better if Home Free/Austin would have released a statement of SOME kind because announcing the addition of Adam #3 and photoshopping him into (and Austin out of) the Crazy(er) Life album cover for the upcoming tour made it blatantly obvious the original plan for Austin to perform with them through the Fall was out the window. It's gonna be really REALLY weird hearing them perform songs with a voice so different from Austin's (Adam has a beautiful voice too of course, but very different, and decidedly NOT a country one). When Chris left & was replaced by Chance it wasn't nearly as big a change, for one because it was 2015 & their collection of songs/work was just a fraction of what it is now. This will be a seismic change. Will also be odd hearing Austin w/o the accompaniment of the amazing harmonies. Frankly, I'm still quite depressed over it. I wish them all only the very best & will continue to follow them all but it will never be the same as the past decade.

I'm so with you. I rallied with the change when Chris left and Chance came - I still miss Chris, but it was still good. Losing Austin is a big deal. I wish him and Amberly all the very best and I will follow them forever - but this subterfuge as to why he's leaving much earlier than expected is puzzling. I am also quite sad over this. And I'll still follow them, too. But you're right - they need to make a statement. We have that coming to us as Home Fries! And to be honest, if I'd gotten tickets to a concert this summer expecting to hear Austin with them one last time - and he was suddenly gone with no explanation? I'd be SO disappointed...

Yes. I am happy for him to be able to settle down and have this next step of being home, etc. But Austin said he WOULD be with Home Free until Dec. I have been charting their tour dates so that we can go hear HF (for our first time) WITH him, BEFORE he leaves! I just went to Home Free's website to look at updated tour schedule to make our plans for the Fall and was excited to see new dates. But then seeing Austin wasn't on the album, I came here. I am very sad that he will not be part of the tour. :'( Don't want to go now.

I'm the other way - once the replacement were in place I don't see any reason for Austin to perform in any other way than a cameo with Home Free. He chose to leave, and all is good - now that Bastien's in place Home Free obviously have to move forward in their direction, and Austin in his... I obviously hope the'll stay friends forever, but Home Free have to think of the tour and get Bastien incorporated in the group and the performance synergy. I hope Sweet n Low will continue to be a thing and wish all parties involved every bit of success in the future.

ok you both always get this old man to smile either with your songs but the main thing is how you both cut up with each other love the music of home free as well life is never easy especially with one on the road all the time and austin the honey do list never stop and i will always wish the best for both of you and what i tell my 14 girls i raised over my life time i tell them never be in a rush to expand the family with babies until you learn about the person you are with out of 5 girls that are old enough to have kids 2 of them listen 2 of them found their person and one didn't listen and just had kids so she learning a hard leson in life but as her dad i help her but i still make her responsible for her actions
