The best stage for tree sentinel is when you can tank one of his shield attacks without getting oneshot. Maybe 4-6 heal pots are nice for that boss. What killed me the most, when i beat him on a fresh character was getting oneshot not running out of heal.

You can actually get to the area that's East of Limgrave called Caelid if you go through a passage of bushes/cliffs to the right of the entrance if the castle. If you run right up there towards the top, you'll find these militia men. There's a grace near them and you can backstab/sneak and they give you over 1,000 runes each. It's the best early farming spot. Also, don't forget you can level up your spirits summons and upgrade your weapon (upgrade Jellyfish for Margit, it's tanky af and draws aggo a lot).

The key is to not get angry, when you die don't get angry at the boss, just immediately think about what you did wrong before you can do anything else, this both helps with improvement and not getting too upset and quitting

Berserk has always inspired parts of FROM's games but for some reason with Elden Ring they finally decided "fuck it, nobody's gonna complain. Somebody get to work modeling the Guts sword and his armor. Toss in some Griffith stuff too." Actually the more you look the more you start to notice half of Elden Ring is just a huge tribute to Berserk. Areas like Caelid are clearly inspired. You have the sword tributes and the armors/weapons; there's a lot.

Here’s the funny thing, I spent 12 hours exploring the beginning area to find all the secrets before I beat the first boss, where as other people are beating the first boss in like 5 hours. I beat a fucking dragon, and got to the roundtable hole before I beat the first boss, and I don’t know why I did that, but I’m actually really glad i did.

Damn, as someone who likes to play with a greatsword and greatshield, I was much slower and didn't have any magic. Margit was fucking hard for me, even with a cooperator. Congrats to Charley for beating him in 8 tries instead of 8 hours.

Maybe too early to tell but my initial impression was that strength builds aren't super strong in this game starting out. I was really regretting my choice for a while, but at around 30 hours in I'm finally to the point where I'm doing a ridiculous amount of staggering. I tried making a strength paladin but ended up respecing purely into strength and I'm way better off. Using the Grafted Greatsword at strength 53, talismans that boost strength even further and then the sword's art also boosts stats temporarily. Talisman for increased charged damage, physick for more charged damage, and if I really wanna be sure I can use Godrick's great rune to boost stats even more. So basically it took a while but strength is pretty fun once you get the levels, upgrades and synergies. So long as I have the stamina I can lock a lot of bosses in place.

One thing I absolutely hate about these games is when you try to dodge, get hit to the ground, and then five seconds later your character gets up and rolls because for some reason the game still makes him roll even if it was interrupted. Like obviously I don't want to roll now because it's been like five seconds since I pressed the button.

something about that hit at 1:15:00 got me lookin at this boss goofy. slow it down to like 0.5 something about the way the animations play out and when the hit registers, just works the eyes the wrong way lol
