EDIT: the song is SSJ2 Gohan Theme Song (Rnglish Rock Cover) Unmei no Hi - Tamashii vs Tamashii by Tero, and it was made January 27, 2018, about 7 months before DBZA episode 60 part 1 came out.

Most of the Cell Juniors are named after people that voiced Cell: Norio Wakamoto (Japanese VA), Dameon Clarke (Funimation), Travis Willingham (most video games), Curtis Arnott (Takahata01), Dale Wilson (Westwood), and Jonathan David Cook (Animaze). ...Oh, and Vegeta Jr. Jr. is a Nappa reference.

The "translator's note: "keikaku" means plan" joke is actually a sort of obscure Death Note reference. In old fansubs of Death Note, when Light gets the Notebook back and says his iconic "just according to plan" line, the fansub creators typed out "Just according to keikaku" instead of just putting plan, and put that translator's note at the top. It's been mocked ever since for being really weeaboo-ish and dumb.

That's how I feel about a lot of fan subs I've seen. What's so hard about just translating all of the dialogue into proper English? Why do they have to go out of their way to pick and choose certain tidbits to arbitrarily keep Japanese?

Fun fact about “Norio, Dameon, Travis, Curtis, Dale, and Johnathan.” Those are the names of various voices of Cell Norio is Norio Wakamoto, Japanese voice of Cell Dameon is Dameon Clarke, main voice of Cell from the Funimation dub, and no doubt the most famous to western audiences. Travis is Travis Willingham, Dameon’s understudy at Funimation who voices Cell whenever Dameon isn’t available. Curtis is Curtis Arnott, AKA Takahata101, the voice from DBZ Abridged, who you’re listening to right now. Dale is Dale Wilson, voice of Cell from the Ocean Group dub in Canada Johnathan is Johnathan David Cook, voice of Cell in the DBZ video games dubbed by Animaze.

Watching this for like the 4th time with theduckgoesmoo, and it has to be my favorite reaction, "Uh.... Um... Boss Music just started playing!" It's the most perfect analogy for this moment I've ever heard. God I'd LOVE for him to do a reaction for the 3 different versions of this, the TFS, the English, and the Original Japanese. The English I always found 'meh' with the dialog and generic music, TFS is a close second, but the Original Japanese was beyond epic, the proof of the Saiya-Jin Blood awakening with the Oozaru's Roar when he screams overlapping is amazing, and something no translation ever caught and made use of.

FF7 Machinabridged was on my recent poll but people really wanted Yugioh Abridged.

I can't be the only person who thought that a nuke couldn't of even touched Perfect Cell right?.. he dwarfs the Androids in power, who themselves dwarf Frieza in power, who survived a planet exploding while he was cut in half. All the most powerful nukes in the world, combined couldn't touch Cell.

It’s not JUST a nuke. It was a nuke designed to take out Goni at the time of the Saiyan invasion, guaranteed. Seeing how over-prepared all of Gero’s creations were for that level of power, and seeing how strong 16 is already, I think it all checks out.

@@theinimitablejora522 well considering the fact Gero didn't even know what Super Saiyan was, and it took a heart disease to put Goku in a position for android 19 to get the advantage. Plus that while 16 rivaled imperfect Cell's power, he was completely dwarfed in power by semi perfect Cell, and much more so by Perfect Cell. So i still see no reason why any kind of man made explosive, atleast one that wouldn't at bare minimum destroy the entire planet, would even faze Perfect Cell.

And well, I wouldnt underestimate the scientist who managed to surprised the people that literally broke the laws of physics by creating the Hoi Poi Capsules everyone has so easily and somewhat affordable. 16 can sense everyones power level and im sure he wouldnt just jump in if he couldnt at least deal some damage.

"According to cake" is a translation joke of sorts. It's sorta a case where the japanese words for cake and plan are written the same as eachother.

I love DBZA, but keep that and canon separate, especially when you bring reasons for why you think Piccolo was a better father than Goku. Why? Let me go over some differences between DBZA and canon; In canon, Goku gave his life to hold Raditz in place for Piccolo’s attack to kill him. In the Abridged series, Goku stupidly expected Piccolo to give him a signal to let go and dodge, which never came. Abridged Piccolo flat out murdered Goku. Canon Piccolo kidnapped Gohan to train against the Saiyans. Abridged Piccolo kidnapped Gohan to use as a child soldier to take over the world. Abridged Piccolo murdered Goku, then he kidnapped his son with the intent to use him as a child soldier to take over the Earth. Ironically the only one who called him out for either of these things is Goku, who still mostly lets them slide. Abridged Gohan starts hating Goku by the Namek Saga for not being around for him. As far as the audience had seen, this had only happened during the Saiyan Saga, because Piccolo killed him. Gohan was more fond of the man who killed his father, kidnapped him, abused him, and planned to use him to take over the world. By that point the only time Piccolo had done anything for Gohan was giving his life to save him from Nappa. Goku had risked his life against Raditz, not to mention saved Gohan from Nappa and the Ginyu Force. Gohan hating Goku by that point just made Gohan look like a selfish, ungrateful little jerk, not mention when you think about him liking Piccolo better gives the idea of there being brainwashing behind the scenes. Given these things, is it any wonder that there is a certain crowd of fans who didn’t think Abridged Gohan was sympathetic? For many of them they felt he deserved what happened in episode 60, especially with Cell and Android 16 chewing him out for his cowardice. But enough of that, lets get onto canon. Goku is a very flawed parent. That is to be expected. Goku is a child. He never had any responsible adults to treat him how to be a mature adult. So this sadly means he doesn’t have much idea how to be a father. Nonetheless we do get the idea he was there in the first few years of Gohan’s life, up until he died. And he died saving Gohan’s life. I have seen people criticize Goku for forcing Gohan to fight throughout the series. He did no such thing. Goku didn’t force Gohan to fight in the Saiyan Saga, Piccolo did. Goku was too busy being dead. When Goku showed up, he insisted on handling things himself. And Gohan got involved anyways of his own free will when he realized Goku was losing against Vegeta. Goku didn’t force Gohan to go to Namek, Gohan wanted to go. Neither he nor anybody else had any idea what dangers were waiting for them. They heard Namekians were dying, but had no idea why. Goku asked Gohan to fight in the Cell Saga, but he didn’t force him. Yes Goku is definitely out of line with this decision. He was thinking about what things were like for him at that age and didn’t realize Gohan didn’t like fighting. Goku admitted he was wrong and intervened. Goku was dead for the next seven years of Gohan’s life, but that was Gohan’s fault. Everyone, not just Goku, told Gohan to kill Cell right away, and he didn’t because the Super Saiyan sadism got the better of him. Thus Goku had to give his life, again. We don’t get much hints about Gohan and Goku’s day to day life, since there wasn’t much in the way of peaceful times for them. But the implications we get is Goku was a kind and loving person like he was with everyone else. Goku is certainly not the best father, but it’s a stretch to say he was bad. Anyone else notice Gohan only learned how to dodge properly after training with Goku alone?

piccolo sure talking smack from that glass house of his, excuse me but who kidnapped gohan (piccolo) who forced him to train when he was 5, (piccolo) who forced him to study (chichi) who killed goku taking away gohan's father for a year (piccolo) who forced gohan to fight the saiyans because "they'd kill everyone otherwise" (piccolo) who sent gohan into space, nobody it was gohans choice. Piccolo shut the hfil up, you've spent less time with gohan than goku, both canonly and in this abridged, its great ya care about him that's nice, but you started this crap. gohan if you don't want to fight, fine, if you don't want to train fine, there are super human adults capable of fighting, and you really do have the choice. It should be your choice, Goku is putting gohan into this fight because contrary to popular belief in the canon he is intelligent, watch the final season of Dragon Ball, he analyzes his opponents to an insane level, he knows gohan's true potential and if he brings it out cell is dead, he fought both gohan and cell, he knows the truth. Gohan doesn't need to snap he needs to 1 have confidence and 2 fight to win he's already doubting himself before the fight even starts. He thinks his dad wants him to snap to win, no just believe in yourself and don't hold back
