Chris Summers I saw that too. Edd is great but often do that. Just fit new parts with old rusty clamps or screws.

When I worked for an MG specialist, if we put shitty old wheel nuts onto new Rostyle wheels and bolted these back onto a properly restored car without new centre caps, we would have been hung, drawn and quartered! It’s the little details that make the difference.

The stainless steel sills look nice. Unfortunately, they usually hide a horror story of rust, so will put off anyone who knows about MGBs.

In terms of enjoying some good work on cars and some cheesy blag by Brewer, this always was excellent. They never charge for time nor for a comprehensive workshop. Therefore almost every car is really sold at a substantial loss. All the cars are eventually ‘sold’ at way less than they must be worth. Is it all staged? Wheeler Dealers have also renovated big cars, for which they admit that there is very little market. Why? It is a pretty programme but about as authentic as Midsomer Murders, which is tongue-in-cheek and all the better for it.

Last MOT expired in 2010. Probably in a scrap yard somewhere now.

That programme is from 2004. The whole thing is staged and is useful only for the tips we pick up from Edd. Brewer always considerably undersells the car at the end.

Lew Smith why do you think parts and labour in the US is more expensive than in the UK?

Autoroom21 because of lack of resources primarily. They were sold for a grand total of 10 years here in the states (only 3 of which posted actual gains) and the ones that were sold here were heavily modified to meet US restrictions. On top of that once you find the parts you have to find someone knowledgeable willing to work on them. As someone in the auto repair industry I can promise that’s going to be tough to find. A quick google search for MGB GT’s for sale in the US show ones in decent condition ranging anywhere from $11,000-$20,000 for ones in good shape. So definitely on the lower end as far as classic cars go but still nowhere near as cheap as the one in this video

what I never understood : why did MG stopped production of the MGA in favour of the B? even I love both cars the MGA for me is by far the prettiest its just looks more English more like suited to English country roads on a Sunny sunday Morning only second the the Healey 3000, and If your young of course n Love driving down twisting country lanes you only have ONE Choice Lotus Elan, modern super cars are speed machines designed in wind tunnels but they will never have the soul of these beautiful cr designed by Real engineers who just love cars

And it should have got a proper Moto-Lita leather wheel, as I had in my, absolutely and totally lousy produced, 1966 BMC Mini! Even from the corners of the front screen, water came in, as from many other places!

Do it properly, keep it original. A respray costing £1000? That's just a "blow over". Back to bare metal, all rust cut out and a few new panels will cost in excess of £7000. A really good BGT with history from day one will still fetch £20,000+ in the UK. I should know. I recently turned down such an offer for mine.

That car only had 40 odd thousand miles they practically gave it away, how ridiculous this show is and as was said those dirty lug nuts and old tyres was a skimp to far after the effort of full respray,as for the stodge that turns up to buy it and bids him down he should have told him to get the bus home

Also disappointing on all episodes of Wheeler Dealers, with all the different spanner guys. Radio Aerials. Many of the vehicles that they refurbish have aerials that have snapped off or they are those ugly little black rubber stubby things. Very often when the finished car is rotating on table, looking all polished, but still has the snapped off aerial in place. Such a daft mistake and so cheap to replace.
