Can’t believe we got your location wrong 🤣 For the condensation issue, first get some wind deflectors so you can leave your windows open an inch, without being seen as open or letting in rain. Helps massively with air circulation. Then give your windows a wipe with some shaving gel (not foam). Once the smears have been wiped it smell great and help keep the windows clear. We’ll be showing this in our next video so hopefully it works out well again for us :)

🌴Stephanie🌹Rose here from Florida👣 Thanks for letting me tag along! First time viewer and subscriber 💕 It's all about the journey and who you share it with ❗ Thanks for sharing it with 🇺🇸 I was reading down through the comments and didn't see this information and it maybe further down so excuse me if I repeat. There's a window screening that you open your door and then it's like a socket goes over the door you close the door and you're able to open the window and still have a screen on it so you leave like a crack or wide-open depending on how cold it is outside. The other thing I've seen people doing is bubble wrap like a window cover but it's bubble wrap and they say the bigger the bubbles the better so they'll still be moisture but not as much and you just wipe the windows off with a cloth when you take the bubble wrap off. They just stacked them, rolled & stashed it in a space till next time. You can look that up! The people I saw that did it said don't worry about it being wet when you put it away because that helps it stick to the window. Will help it say in place when you put it back up, good luck with that! I will be following along thank you 🎄

I had condensation in my car like this, it was because I had a tiny hole in my floor and a leaking seal leading into my engine compartment. Check your floor for standing water and your carpets/floor matts. Hi Liam and Janine, I noticed you had a bit of condensation issue on your windscreen. If you cut a bubble-wrap (use medium size bubbles) cover the size of your wind screen, and put the bubble wrap up of a night (heres the funny thing, wait til your window gets that foggy look to it as that helps the bubble wrap stick), it will help keep your van warmer, and greatly reduce the amount of condensation you get in your van.

Hi, Happy Days. There is a couple of KZbin channels I watch that may help with your condensation problems. One is, 'Mel's van life', he uses a Karcher window vacuum, they are very good - I ended up with one. The other channel is called 'Greg Virgoe', he built his own campervan (which is a great van build to watch). He added two Max fans for through ventilation. I know he added two fans first but they wasn't too good, so he removed them and added two better ones, which can run even when they are closed! If that makes sense.

Love the vlogs guys. Condensation in winter is a nightmare you need to get a fan in the roof. External thermal screens will stop the front and side but not very stealth. The other thing is a karcher window vac to get rid of the condensation in seconds
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
Great tips! We have a ceiling fan, but apparently it needs air flow to work properly. So we are going to look into getting some deflectors on the window so we can leave them open a bit 💚

Bubble wrap stuck on the inside of your glass will insulate the glass pretty much stopping your condensation problems, big bubble wrap is the best,this may sound odd but really works, good luck

Outside window covers seem to work very well, I never got condensation when using them.
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we have considered it, but it will mean we won't be as stealth as we were before I think
@debshamish65332 жыл бұрын
Just to say - always best to reverse into park up space so you could leave in a hurry, should you ever need to (hopefully not!)
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
I think that's a safe & sensible idea 💚🙏

I have window deflectors in the cab windows and leave them cracked by about 5cm, it does help but you won’t be able to eliminate condensation completely.
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
I think that's a good point, that it Will never truly get rid of condensation

That big oak tree is known as the Major oak in Sherwood forest. I grew up in Nottingham and as a kid in the late 1960's and early 1970's mum and dad used to take us to Sherwood forest at the weekends for days out. At that time you could climb, play and go inside the Major Oak. It did'nt have all the supports and fencing round it then that is there now, and no cafe or visitor centre either, you took your own picnic with you if you wanted to eat and drink! I like the look of that pasta dish you cooked, I'm not vegan but I would definitely give that a go.

We have Heko wind deflectors that we leave open about an inch, we also have a Maxxair fan in the ceiling which we put on 10% extract. Eliminates all condensation even with the cab curtain closed & nothing on the windscreen & front door windows. Maxxair fan is approx £350 & Heko wind deflectors are approx £38 money well spent 👊😎👍

Hey Shaz, we have an extractor fan in the roof, just need more air flow. Going to look into these window deflectors 💚 Thank you x

I used to have a Transit Mk5 Autosleepers Duetto and found setting the dashboard vent control to "open" plus lowering the passenger/driver door window about half an inch helped reduce condensation. Leave the roof vent open when you can too though I realise that's not always possible with the weather.
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
That's great advice, hadn't thought about the dash vent! Just got some window deflectors too, so hopefully they work 🙏

@@ThoseHappyDays I fitted those on my van mainly so I could at least drive with the window part way down on rainy days without getting soaked! All modern cars are now built with the roofline set in from the door line. Looks stylish but it's a fail imo and worse still roof gutterings have been abandoned (not sure about Mk7 Transits) so every time you open the door after it's been raining, the seat gets soaked. Your deflectors will stop that.

Here in the States, we have a product called DampRid! It obsorbs dampness and water into the bottom of the container! We would use it in bathrooms! It works! When the container is full of water, you just pour it out and let it do it again!

As well as leaving windows open a tad: get a Karcher or similar to wipe the windows with each morning (better than having soggy wet rags around adding moisture to the van again!). You can get windscreen heaters that direct straight at the screen that claim to dry the screen but as obviously you’re living/breathing in your van this creating moisture all the time we’ve found the Karcher the most useful item to have in the van for this issue! Also (you may have found a solution by now but 1. for wet walking boots-get the inner soles out if you can snd dry them separately and keep stuffing your boots /shoes with newspaper screwed up tight. As it gets wet replace it with more dry stuff and whatever you do don’t wear them if at all possible until completely dry! 2. For your condensation on your mattress-definitely related to heat hitting cold. Air circulation crucial, good insulation in/on your back doors and yes ideally direct heat from your blown air heating up there to stabilise the temperature. Hope this is of help. Best of luck to you both and Happy New Year! Anna x

Love all of your videos but this one in particular. I live in adjoining Derbyshire and recall as a child actually going inside the spectacular Major Oak. It's where Robin stashed all his 'pickings' and sadly it is now so fragile that you can't even touch it.

Some years back someone tried to set fire to it, they had to re-enforce the inside with glass fibre and other materials.

Cut bubble large bubble wrap to fit windows. Allow small amount of condensation to settle as this will aid bubble wrap to stick to glass. Press bubble wrap to glass and witness the difference the following morning. Cheers!

Get a karcher window Hoover. Your still get condensation but its a quick easy way to remove it in there mornings. You could also get a thermal blanket to wrap around the windscreen and cab windows

Try “cleaning” your windows with liquid soap, I do this on my bathroom mirrors and they don’t get any condensation after a shower. And liquid soap is cheap to buy!

My neck of the woods. Literally lol. Re condensation wind deflectors leave the wind open ( not noticeable) Be sure to open all you doors up in the morning. Air you bedding out too if you can. Happy camping Lol I live in Nottinghamshire and didn’t know about underground caves. Might take the kids

Condensation it's a big issue I use a karcher window vac. Its brilliant. Cost £40 from B&Q.However you need a little generator to charge it. I have an Impax genny. From Screwfix it's only 800 watts. But its tiny for a genny . Costs under £200. Very handy for charging your batteries up to. But as I live in my van I know space is the premium thing. Hope this helps

You can get plastic de.isting panels to put inside the windscreens. ALSO if you put a sheet of cardboard or anything over the windshield this may also help cut the condensation down , i did this while working night shift, it works. Hope it helps.

I’m having the same problem with condensation with my front windows and locker above the can. I’d say it is the worst thing about vanlife. Friends told be an out silver screen stops it on the windscreen. I also wipe the windows down and open them and the roof vent every day to air the van. I’m considering buying a USB dehumidifier. I have don’t have too much of a problem in the back as it well insulated. I did have damp under my mattress but I bought an air Matt that lets air circulate under the mattress
@ThoseHappyDays2 жыл бұрын
Ooo I'm monitoring the mattress too as I am worried! It's good to know about the air mattress, and we will purchase if it gets bad 💚

Purely and simply, bubble wrap, wait until the windows steam up a little then just 'stick' it to the window. Simplest and cheapest way.
