Very nice video! Having also tracked my r53jcw at brands, my biggest issue was heat soak. On that basis I doubt you had 210hp at all times:) I would also recommend perhaps trying one gear up on every corner you ie paddock hill 4th; druids 3rd etc. Otherwise very smooth driving; well done!

Best thing you’ll ever learn to do it rev match, should deffo give it a go, helped me a lot on track, stopped the engine braking from loading up the front end too much & the control was all in the brakes instead

Your mini sounds exactly the same as mine, i think it was high intake air temps reducing power they do heat soak even with bigger intercooler

Hi cloe. What’s involved in taking your car to a track day? Summer is coming and hopefully the nice weather too, restrictions are being lifted ( what a strange year we all have had) so I’m curious as to requirements, need’s and kit to take my 53 on a track day just for the experience of it , Ive googled my reg and my 53 has been to brands hatch with its previous owner, however following a few of your mods and upgrade videos I’ve adapted it for more hp and better handling ( powerflex through out ) Many thanks in advance 👍.

Hi all I have a 2005 R53 with a 19% pulley, upgraded intercooler and Ramair induction kit. I've had the car about 3 months and I had a sqeek noise from lifting the clutch when. Changing gear from day one. But once warmed up it seems to go. The other thing it sometimes stutters on a hard pull away from a standing position (flooring it) The car is serviced regularly with colder plugs etc. Any advice please

If not, next year!!! I will probably see you at a brands day some point, i might even bring the wifes r53 out instead of the mr2 at somepoint

Love the car, but painnnful to watch the hard downshifts. If you're going to spend all that money on track prepping your car, why not learn to heel/toe downshift? Your clutch and car balance will thank you for it.

Its been a sore subject in most cars, I can reach in a narrow formula car but road cars and the MINI would need an adjustable pedal box that's positioned closer. I looked up Tilton in the past but, Ive got more chance learning left foot braking that spending a fortune on new custom pedals, just need more seat time and practice 😄
