You are 100% correct. I used to work with the homeless. 99% were hard core drug addicts who only looked forward to their next fix. When offered a place to live and treatment for their addictions, they declined and asked for the money instead to be used to support their drug habit. After a few years, I finally accepted they wanted to stay homeless so any money they could get was used towards their drug addiction. You cannot help people who don't want to help themselves.

The problem will be that you can't force people into rehab and make them stay. It's illegal. You would have to change the law first in regards to holding people and medicating without consent. Then you would have to create the facilities to hold them. The rehabilitation cost per person would be too great. It would basically be a prison. And more tax dollars to be spent.

Maura Healey, the mayor and state government should be sued for every day they've been camped out there hurting business & property values and creating unsafe/unsanitary conditions. Thank you! I quit teaching as the students as well as their parents just got so out of control that you could “teach”. It takes a relationship with all 3, teacher, parent & students-that’s a thing of the past. Spend most the time just trying to get them seated & quiet so you could try. I taught math & science-2 subjects schools have a hard time finding but hey guess they didn’t need my 17 years experience. So I quit got another job that certainly pays better & don’t have people throwing desks & telling me to F off. I had 9th graders who couldn’t read!!

While I was driving to Rowing Practice at the Boathouse in Okc I saw the homeless woman that I gave 10$ 2 weeks ago. I told her to try and buy a used tent with it. I gave her some food. I was happy today to see she how has a old tent to sleep in. It's a little bit of safety and a place to stay dry in the rain. I gave her some water and pretzels today. They have no where else to go.

Well they're not paying rent, we know that much. Pan handling and stealing. The marijuana users where I lived were big time trouble makers. Nobody wants drug users around, there is real reason as to why. I thought buying a condo would get me around working class, productive people, I was wrong. Massachusetts is the problem. I grew up California and Massachusetts, and the only state that was decent was Arizona when it was majority Republican. There is a direct link between liberals and this decay and abusing tax payers.
