Finally someone who loves disressing as much as I do!!! I love your style so much, it is exactly my style. Btw, I think that fabric you asked about is seersucker. Thank you for sharing your work. You inspire me!

Thank you so much! I'm happy to help. Just keep trying and you'll get it. Just remember that the fraying is the key! Use fabric that frays well. 🙂

Wow! This bow is very simple to make but it looks incredible and would probably cost up to $15. or more at a craft store.

Thank you so much for sharing this how-to video. It was so gracious of you to share when you also sell them. Do you mind telling me how long you cut your strips of fabric? They’re just beautiful! I can’t wait to get some supplies together and make some.

It's interesting how randomly your video showed up on my feed and caught my eye. I am a crocheter, and I was just looking for the inspiration for a project. Its so nice of you to teach how you make the bows when you also sell them. You are awesome! You sounded so nice. I watched the whole video even though (at least for now), i don"t know if I ever are going to use this knowledge! 😊 Probably, I will apply it somehow soon. Your technique looks like a good way to let loose my creativity. 😂 I am subscribing and will let you know how it went. Thanks for your generosity, and please, pardom me if my English is kind of weird; it's not my mother language. 😊 Many blessings to you! 😇

Love making this, but the problem I have is cinching all together tight. Thinking my pieces may be to wide. They are about 1/4 inch. Yours look to be about 1/8 in.
@CountryViewHomestead

So, I make my widths according to how big my bow will be. If you're making a small bow like in the picture (about 4"), I would definitely go with a smaller width.

Just found your site and love this tutorial and adore your bow. I have Liked and Subscribe to your channel. Do you use a permanent ink pad or a dye ink (which is washable) pad when distressing? What’s your method when you do the tea dye….. How many tea bags to the amount of how much water? Hot or cold water? How long do you leave it to soak? Thank you so much 😄

Good morning! Welcome to the channel ☺️. I use a permanent ink pad. I put roughly 3 cups of water in a pot with 3 black tea bags and bring it to a boil. The more tea bags you add, the darker the stain will be. Once it starts to boil, I turn it off and submerge whatever fabric im staining. Let it sit for a few minutes (some fabrics take longer), then strain. I usually let it sit in the strainer until it's cool enough to handle. Then ring it out, air dry and use. Hope that helps! 😊

How do you store all your cut material. I spent a few hours cutting and staining yesterday. Now I need a neat way to store :)

I have a container with all of my torn pieces. I keep them together, but you could put them in baggies and put them in a container. Whatever works best for you. 😊

Yes, I have used burlap. I put it in the bows when I use it somewhere else on the project. 😊

Do you think it would work to make the strips longer for a bigger bow?
@CountryViewHomestead
@CountryViewHomestead 7 ай бұрын
You could make the strips longer, but if you go too long, they will end up drooping down. I've made the, a little longer and it works fine. I would say to test it and see.

What ink pads do you use for distressing?
@CountryViewHomestead
@CountryViewHomestead 7 ай бұрын
I use the Stampable brand, but any of them would work. It's a regular ink pad that you would use for rubber stamps. I use the black and brown colors. 😊

Thank you so much! I cut them a little over 4 inches to allow for trimming, but you can also make them the size you need. 😊

Thank you for doing this tutorial. Is the flour sack in craft or kitchen dept? Is the drop cloth cut or ripped? 1:34 Thank you😊

The flour sacks are in the kitchen section and I cut the drop cloth because it doesn't rip. Thanks!
