I'm reading a book, called "A Revolution Betrayed", by Peter Hitchens. Part of it, details the things Labour was in favour of in the 60s and 70s. Grammar Schools and the 11+, helped bright working class kids get a good education, Day Borders, working class kids going to top private schools, Eton Harrow etc, for free to them, Scholarships to good schools for bright working class kids.
