"It's impossible" (my riding journey)

I told everyone I wanted to be a showjumper.. Everyone told me it was impossible. It wasn't. But it's been a long, hard, painful joruney that's still far from finished. I've been pushed to my limits, mentally, emotionally and financially. But it's been proved through my work and dedication that it's not impossible. I started out with a scruffy little pony kept in my back yard where i jumped chairs and trash cans on the road outside my house. It seemed impossible, maybe it was. But I refused to give up on my dreams, I still do.
I'm not where I wish to be, but when I look back at where I came from, I know I've come so far. I never gave up when my horses were injured for months and years, when I fell off all the time, when I was terrified, anxious and scared to death for riding or when I got injured from working with them. Maybe it was impossible, but I made it possible.
I'm not talented. I'm not rich. I'm not lucky. I'm not gifted. The odds were never in my favour.. But I'm dedicated, determined, passionate and hard working and when it comes down to it, thats the most important.
It doesn't matter where you come from, it's no excuse. I made it happen and you can make it happen too. If you don't have the resources to do it, I didn't either. It takes more time, it's harder, sometimes unbearable. But if you never give up you will get there no matter what and it will be so worth it.

Last Friday, I had a panic attack so bad that I nearly passed out while jumping an 80cm course when I used to jump over 1.10m fences without even blinking. When I started getting into 2'6 and 3 foot my trainer gave me a very stubborn horse. But that horse trained me to be better. It's always the hard ones that teach.

everyone at my school says horse riding is easy. THEN some people from my school came to a horse show but they did not know that me and my friend Nyah were in it they were taking pics of us doing the jumping when my horse sunny threw me off because of the flashing lights of their camera

Therese U inspire me so much. They way you fight through The Problems. I had a Panic attack as I went over a 1.30 course and I thought to myself think of Therese how she fights her Problems think how she inspires you do what you do and how she Fights her Problems as I went over the 3 stride oxer that's when it happened and I thought of what I just said. Did you watch the Olympic Dressage? Of course you did, all horse lovers did. Not sure if you got the same commentary we did however there is a story about a rider who's first horse her parents got her by selling an old washer and dryer. Her next horse was a train wreck. They couldn't sell him because nobody could ride him. She kept working and working and that is the same horse she took to the Olympics. You can do it, now don't get mad when I root for the US though. We need the gold again. Work hard, start as a groom, you go girl!!! NEVER GIVE UP

Thank you so much for these videos! They have helped me so much! I had a horrible accident and was in the hospital for a month and when I went back to ride again I couldn’t remember it. If I'm honest my horse is an absolute nightmare to school since she's 13 and never been properly schooled and at least once a week I think about giving up on her which I hate since she's so sweet and tries her best but this video makes me realise that eventhough she can't get me to where I want to be she sure can help me get one step closer. I have just become a horse rider and.. Your videos inspire me so much to not give up. My lesson yesterday I had to do rising trot without holding on, i was really scared but then i thought well all the riders that are amazing like you had to do this once and thats where they got so good so now i am trying my absolute best. Keep riding, I was jumping once with my black gelding, I fell off during a jump my gelding knocked three poles on me, I passed out and woke up in the hospital a few days later (2 days) I broke my arm and leg, I can’t ride until March 2020. So I wish you lucky

It's not just for the people who ride horses that you inspire, but you also inspire those of us are trying to achieve their dreams. I'm homeless and I'm working my way through college for a degree in creative writing; sometimes, the problems of surviving on the streets is so much that I wonder why I even try to get off the streets or to try to better myself at all. But when I started watching your videos and whenever I watch one when I'm feeling down, I remember why I'm going to college and why I'm working hard to get off the streets and I feel better and I focus that much harder on improving my living situation. I was at the same riding school for 6 years, and realised I was not getting anywhere. So I was told about this riding school by a friend and moved there around October last year. The coach is amazing and I've improved a ton. After a term, I was offered a 5yr green Appy X Qh mare. I was so happy as its my first lease, yet there was so much to do. I've never done a proper show in my riding life, and I felt like I wasn't going to get there anytime soon leasing a green mare that didn't jump. My dream is to compete in showjumping at high levels, but I didn't want to give up on her. About a month ago I came across your videos, feeling that I wasn't going to get anywhere and that my life is on pause, whilst everyone around me is reaching their riding goals, let alone the goals I want to accomplish. And your videos really effected me, in the way I had someone to now relate to. They have given me much determination, and we're now jumping 60-70cm!! So Thankyou, Thankyou so much for inspiring me!

I ride a horse who I'm kind of scared of cause he big and cause he spooks easy but I tell my self if Theresa did all of this why can't I just get over small spooks like rearing (not even that high). first of all you are one of the most talented riders I have ever seen, you can ride some of the craziest horses. It's okay to admit you're scared every once in a while, you would be stupid if you weren't a little scared. Coming from the bottom helps you a lot because you know just where you came from and you will making it to the olympics. "Just because something is difficult doesn't mean you shouldn't try. therese,dont give up keep trying and work with him one day he will under stand that your the boss and your doing very well i wish i was this good you keep dreaming and dont give up :) trust your self and get back up,once i was riding a horse called mousee every time i try to trot her she bolts and i could not stop her and she went to the other side of paddock with me with lose feet and when she came to the corner she did a tight turn and spun around and i went flying into the fence :( and i have been working with her and shes amazing! shes jumped 1.40m with me on her and shes so calm and lovley just work with him you will get there:),your my fav youtuber too,from sophie:D
