strolling throught a forest, you hear this in the distance. you start forgetting why you were inside of that forest. the music gets louder, and louder. closer, and yet closer. until... it stops. you realise you weren't in a forest. and yet, you were in a bed. surrounded by... your children!? you start to remember about your family. the one you created with your wife. everything starts to become slightly dark, as if you are closing your eyes automatically. by the point you close your eyes completely, you feel like you could remember your whole life. but it is too late. that life you once were a part of, is gone. you can now play as 👨🔧luigi!

made me think of an ending concept for a game where the good ending is that you sacrifice the memories of all the friends you made along the way in order to save them or the world or something, and now you're walking around the town from the beginning of the game talking to everyone. They don't recognize you, but they are finally happy and at peace. A bittersweet ending, but at least they're safe, and you can make new memories with them.

This just gives me a sense of comfort honestly. Knowing that my grandfather has severe Alzheimer’s, it can be rough sometimes as it’s so noticeable and I’m always worrying, but songs like this.. they settle down those thoughts and make it more of a lighthearted thing. The caretaker as a whole made me appreciate the meaning in songs and art a lot more. It made me realize that they serve a purpose for those the meaning is directed towards.

i think it needs more swing to be an overworld theme specifically, this sounds more like an industrial level with the marching percussion and the quarter notes
