Downton Abbey has become one of my favorite shows/movies! These actors here are so beautiful, smart, and classy! I do hope there will be more additional movies!

I love the fact that Downton is so much more classy than Bridgerton. That's a huge part that makes it so wonderful. "Sexing it up" only goes so far, and Downton Abbey's cast and writers present story lines that are so much more intelligent, and professional than Bridgerton. That's my opinion anyway. So want to see the new movie here in the U.S. soon.

To put it simply, Bridgerton is geared towards teenagers and young adults who has no interest whatsoever in period drama. It’s a good introduction and hopefully it leads them to watch shows like downton, although it might not work cause there are no good looking people or sexy scenes to be found. But in a way it makes me prouder to be a downton fan cause we’ve got class. And that is something bridgerton doesn’t have

I think it's a bit harsh to say one is classier than the other, when the premise is entirely different. Downton is a true period drama while Bridgerton is more a telling of finding love with the period being the backdrop of that. Yes Bridgerton has more sex scenes, but it also has great storytelling and wonderful acting. I just think Downton and Bridgerton could hardly be compared due to their very different premise.

They have completely different intentions and target audiences so it's very difficult to compare them. This recent season barely had any sex at all

In the end it’s a much more tense romance compared to the first season because, frankly, we are all uncomfortable seeing the duke and daphne go at it ALL THE TIME and that doesn’t build any tension for the audience at all

3:30 I completely agree with Allen. I was disappointed too that Thomas' relationship with Richard didn't last long. Didn't take to the Guy storyline in DA2. No chemistry between them; nor was it believable. I wanted more for Thomas personally. JF needs to rectify this in DA3 😅 3:40 RJC "I want it, I'm putting it out there". Rob creases me up 😂

Well, there were a couple deleted scenes involving them that might've made the difference to you. I know other people, including myself, felt they made a difference and made Thomas and Richard's story more cohesive and easier to follow. Also, can definitely say that when you're a gay person isolated in a hostile area far from any kind of resource or support and you finally find another of your tribe that is around your age, modestly attractive, and treats you with kindness and interest, things sometimes move at breakneck speeds simply because you're so overwhelmed with a need for touch and intimacy and you think this might be your only chance. If it seems totally unbelievable from an outsider's view, it may be because there is no way to really explain or put it in a way that they can understand because they (most heterosexuals) won't have ever experienced anything like it. Also, random aside, my name is Tom (Thomas) and my ex was Richard. I thought that was funny.

@@luxitos2867 Unless the extra scenes were TB and Guy getting it on big time, I still don't think I would have believed it. It was the way TB acted around RE, the way they looked at each other, the way words were not always necessary but you see how they felt etc. It was heart warming. I understand what you are saying about meeting another Gay person etc. For me it was just all to quick. Guy was there 2 minutes, they have a few bland chats where, to me, TB didn't look that interested, then out of the blue Guy blurts "come away with me". TB was always so independent not to rely on others so it was unlike him. If more time had been invested in their relationship I could believe it. Thing is with the film they don’t have much time. This story would have been better for the drama where it could be done in slower time. Build on something. I was chuffed after his relationship with RE but this felt short for me. I just didn't feel/see a tiny spark. I'm glad TB got something good though. Best character in DA. Always has been.

I also love the fact that from this comment You can clearly see how invested Allen is in Barrow's storyline, even if they have almost no scenes together ;) The whole dynamic between Allen and Rob during interviews is amazing. I wish they would have done more press together, but unfortunately Rob is rarely included.

Do you think that Julien will bring Thomas back in a third movie? I really hope so but I suppose that this is the end for Barrow’s storyline😭 now he’s in America with that actor hence they can’t bring him back (btw, their relationship was rushed shallow and totally not believable…. I’m very disappointed)

@@tullia9361 I think JF could bring TB back. He shipped Tom off to New York but he came back again. I think unless they are killed off, there is always a way to bring someone back. Maybe DA3 will be set in the USA where TB & GD are 😀 Just hope TB is happy, put my mind at rest ☺️

I keep thinking that all those actors and actresses talk and behave in private as the characters they perform. That begs the question, is a good actor a person who is completely different privately from the character he or she performs? I guess these days they cast as close as possible to avoid challenges.
