As a female combat veteran I truly believe women should not be in any combat MOS (job). No standard should be dropped for anyone! The only reason I seen combat was because I was a truck driver in one of the deadliest years in Iraq, trying to get supplies to the men on the frontline. And I too am a Broze Star medal recipient.

I'm also a correctional officer but I hold my own. I'm only 5'1. 😆 Our "weapon" within the walls is our smarts and how we speak and treat the inmates. By no means am I a push over. I have told murderers no before and to kick rocks. 😆 But there are some I work with that shouldn't be there 🤷‍♀️

Thank you, ladies for your service and your opinions on this subject. Lol, this particular subject seems to ruffle some feathers whenever we bring it up. Our great aunt was part of the group of first women police officers in Indiana, I think there were 8 women sworn in, and she was one of them. So we definitely have a lot of respect in that area. I can't speak for everyone, but if we want to stand in solidarity, these ladies are absolutely correct: Any GOP senator that blocks one of Trump's cabinet pick should be voted out in their next election. I've already emailed both my Senators (MO) and related as much. Hopefully, they'll get the message.

My son is currently a Sargent first class and he's a drill instructor, he's served 3 years in war , he's 6'4 240 lbs . Tell me how in battle if he gets shot a 120lb woman is going to carry him out of the field that can't carry her own weight.

My mother and father were deputies. My dad could do 36 pull-ups (no joke, had a plaque), 100 push-ups, ran a 5 minute mile, and went on to win three medals for bench press in the California Police Olympics. My mom could do 2 pull-ups, run a 7 minute mile, and do about a dozen push-ups. My mom was a good cop because she had the gift of gab and could talk people off of a ledge but she knew that she would be overpowered by basically any man. She would asses a situation and would always call in the big guns when there were people she couldn’t control. She had a certain temperment that most women don’t have, men are just more if a natural fit in policing and military roles.

I have two concerns with Trump's picks. Matt Gaetz has so much baggage he likely will never be confirmed by the Senate. I lived in the panhandle of Florida for 20 years in his district. His dad was phenomenal, loved by all. However, Matt was a spoiled apple as soon as he was picked off that tree. He has allegations of illegal underage sex trafficking, illicit drug use, and inappropriate sharing of graphic photos with colleagues. Pete Hegseth is a veteran with combat experience but he will be completely underwater as Secretary of Defense. The Department of Defense is the largest agency in the federal government and one of the world's most complex organizations Heading it usually requires CEO type management skills and knowledge. That is not equivalent to being a Commanding or Executive Officer of a Unit or Group.
