I was in the military. We did not have to demonstrate “expert mastery.” Most of the women barely passed and had to retake the test multiple times. All you had to do was get a certain amount of shots on a life size silhouette from 30’ to pass the test. And we did security.

However, I was never as repulsed, frightened, saddened, ??? as when when husband and I took a wrong turn somewhere in Philly about 20 years ago on vacation. As a Vet I think she's absolutely correct! When I'm driving around my city I'm watching corners, rooftops, and for road blocks, jump outs etc. When traffic comes to a stand still I look for the best routes to evade. It's weird to feel like I'm in a conflict area.

I'm with you. Whenever in traffic, always look for a possible escape route. At a traffic light when stopped, always be at least a car length behind the driver in front. Never line up directly behind a car when stopped, always at a slight angle if you have to get out in a hurry. These are simple actions that were learned in a real defensive driving class for women. I took this class in 1988...who knew?

The cops aren't allowed to do their job anymore. In many major cities around the country (look at NYC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc.) cops are told to stand down. They cant do their job properly bc of politics and a push to decrease funding. We will see more and more stories where ppl will have to defend themselves bc the cops aren't allowed to or have to prioritize the calls that come in. It's going to get way way worse before it gets better.

I think the problem in this incident from a legal standpoint is you cannot charge someone with what you think they were going to do. While I have no doubt the man had bad intentions, the fact his plans were foiled by the sensible precautions and actions of his intended victim, means he only got as far as he did. This is frustrating to me, but we also have to consider what it would be like to live in a world where we could be arrested and charged with something based on someone interpreting our actions as something else. The main problem currently is the lawlessness that is inflicted on us by those who seem to think criminals should not pay for their crimes and even be held on bail, so are quickly back on the streets and at it again.

I've seen on the news so.many times where our service veterans have come home from a war zone alive and are killed by some scumbag back here in the US. That's how bad our own has become. God bless our military and their families.

For sure. I’m glad she had the resolve and tools to protect herself. People are getting desperate with the lockdowns and the economy failing. A detective in another video was talking about how mutilated bodies were a rare thing and since the lockdowns started they have become common place. We need to get rid of the lead contamination in our water supplies ( a side effect of lead poisoning is aggression) that is in every state at higher than acceptable levels, and stop the covid madness, so we can get life back to normal.

Nothing about this is new. African American soldiers have felt this way since the Korean War and WWII. Many of them even switched sides from confederate to Union during the Civil War for safety. And if we’re being honest, American society is not a safe place for veterans who have been to war. This country is an asylum. All in its own. Look at the VA’s…soldiers don’t even want to go there, and it’s literally built FOR THEM.
