I bought one of these pressure canner's from you and have been a bit reluctant to try it yet. Could you refer me to some of your videos Links to your successful canning? From Southern California, Thanks AP. Nevermind, I found your playlist. Regardless, thanks.

Congratulations @hands2hearts-seeds2feedamu83 I've been going through some of AP's playlist on canning. This is completely New to me, but I've been freezing it for 3 days, and than cooking rice and beans in the oven at 220 for 2 hours, and then vacuum packing it, with oxygen absorber's and moisture absorber's, about 40 lbs., of each. Can't wait to try this canner. Have a great weekend and Stay Vigilant Friend. Edited here: Happy Belated Birthday.

OK - you talked me into trying it!! We just got back from Walmart - 20LB bag of pinto beans $14.94 I canned potatoes (5 qts) - that is my experience with canning!! I am going to watch this video again and then soak some pinto beans tonight to can in the morning!! Thank you for sharing - this may seem like a small thing to you - but for me at least, the inexperienced canner, it is very helpful to watch someone else and copy the process! Thank you

I can only eat beans that have been soaked, rinsed twice. My stomach gets upset until I get some of the gas causing proteins off and the soaking and rinsing does help greatly.

Soaking beans and pouring off the water reduces the intestinal gas. I actually wash and rinse a couple of times. I watched another you-tuber that had beans so old they simply would not soften...not a problem...her chickens loved them and so a high protein chicken food for winter

@@busygirl2681 they pressure canned the beans and fpund they were still a little crunchy...chickens did not mind as they are softer than the dried bean alone-so if you have old dried beans and pressure canning does not soften them enough for you- they are still excellent for your poultry - ( or a friends birds-pigs). No waste that way

Believe it or not, those Goya beans which comes in several varieties as you know are close to a buck and a half at regular grocery stores but a buck and a quarter at the Dollar Tree and I stock up on quite a bit of them.

Cold pack pressue canning for meat is indeed super simple. Started it with venison, then beef and chicken. Lets you load up on sales and makes cheaper, tougher cuts nice and tender. Don't even need salt. I usually add a dash of pepper, garlic and pinch of pink salt and call it good. For the dogs' treats, just take the fatty, gristly cuts (with chunks of meat, of course) and can without any seasoning. Dogs love it, especially the "jelly" from the cooked down cartlidge.

Here in France prices for beans have about tripled in 2 years. Today i wanted to buy chicken but it was 15euros for a good quality meat per kilo; 2 yrs ago it was about 10euros for a good quality chicken per kilo!! So a few euros extra here & there & your food bill is about a third more than before! One thing i really object to is dog/cat biscuits, they have gone up by almost A HALF price from before ! I think its cheaper to boil meat bones(for free from butcher) & then boil rice with the bones to make a cheaper more nutritious meal for our dog /cats 👍

Hey brother I have a question I made chicken noodle soup and some of the jars are half full of the ingredients for the liquid is at the top is that make them bad or will they still be good also also I did a bunch of hamburger jars and I think it's called siphoning with liquid comes out of the jars is that okay or are they going to end up going bad
@blighted20135 күн бұрын
Just to make sure I understand... The chicken soup has the chunky parts at the bottom and the broth on the top? And the hamburger just had some of the liquid siphon out? If that's correct, and the lids sealed correctly, and you processed for the correct time and at the right pressure, it's fine. I will say that the hamburger that isn't below water will darken a little but it doesn't make it bad.
