I think many actors prefer to stay in character to a degree when the cameras aren't rolling just because it's practical to do so. When you're switching to another accent it takes a few minutes to "feel" yourself back into it, so I suspect Henry just kept rolling with the American accent so that he didn't start accidentally dropping British vowels when they started filming again. There's a lot of talk about actors like Jared Leto "staying in character" on set for PR effect, but at the end of the day it's normal for many actors to preserve at least certain traits of their character (like gaits, accents, stances, body language) just to keep in the flow of things.

He is indeed.My issue,as a life-long comic book fan and as someone who wants to write comics in the future is that Warner Brothers squandered and wasted Henry Cavill as Superman. The guy is like Superman come to life right out of a comic book and there's so much more that could be done with Cavill as Superman! He's got the potential to be the best live-action Superman,in my opinion.But it's almost like Warner Brothers doesn't know what to do with Superman,going forward. Hopefully,they'll get their act together(as it relates to Superman)and do more movies with Cavill as Superman!

i don't care how much people hated on this movie..I loved it and it's one of my favorite superhero movies. I respect people's opinions but it seems like some of the criticism is too much. It's like every little thing Superman does or says it seemed to bother some fans. granted I think there were a few issues with the plot and certain character developments but this was a brilliant portrayal of a young and inexperienced Superman trying to find his place in our world. I think when he comes back in Justice League people will see the Superman they are used to. my one and only biggest complaint was Superman iconic curl missing. I liked how they did his hair but just bring that curl down!! Other than that I loved Cavill's Superman.

People neglected to remember that this is a different Superman, Zack Snyder had a vision of how Superman would become Superman. In comics Superman did not kill people, at least that is for the new ages of Superman. Golden? He always threatened monsters and criminals with extreme acts of violence, his rule has yet to be established. Silver Age? Just less recluctant to the idea against sentient life, and mostly beat downs on criminals. However I do believe he did kill non-sentient life forms, his “No Kill” rule was still in the works. In one case in the Silver Age Superman kills three kryptonians.

Agreed. Reeve brought a sense of “cheesy ness” to the role. Cavill presents a Superman that you can almost believe could really exist. Very convincing; excellent portrayal. Best ever.
