For me, what he was trying to say is: We as men in this world, we have it difficult because we are always valued by what we can bring to society, in his case it's his career as a football player. It's a weird feeling when you are defined solely by performance, especially when you cannot offer it anymore. You don't feel human. But you feel human when you are seen as who you are, a human with all your flaws and edges. And men especially want to feel needed. So when his closes are crying becaue he is leaving, that's when he felt needed and loved. That's what we strive for at the end. Your achievements and performance will eventually be forgotten, someone will be better than you, and you will get worse and worse as you get older. What is left is just you alone and this part hopefully will be remembered.

Your second thought will probably be , David Goggins runned 80 miles on broken legs how can you not do it. Well again I'm giving you an answer in advance ,even Goggins wouldn't be able to run If he was bound to a wheelchair. Being a hard worker is one thing but having things in your way that you cannot control or do much about is another

@nkmensah I'm really not trying to debunk your point just so that I can be right. And frankly I don't understand why discussions oftenly end up like that instead of trying to find a middle ground. So I agree with you totally, yet we got to know that sometimes people have certain limitations that can hardly be overcome by sheer will.

The women of today with all this over emphasis on feelings will not raise dutiful, competent, men. They’ll raise little gays that shrivel at the sight of adversity. This man’s father never allowed for complacency or arrogance. More men need to be treated like they are nothing until they can actually demonstrate their utility. It’s a public service.
