I think he is still the best because the gap between him and everybody else has been just so massive but it is a fact that he is declining. In the last 2 years you see Ronnie missing blacks off the spot, stuff like that really didnt happen to him at his peak but father time is undefeated and he is without a doubt the best snooker player of all time and I see no one coming trough that can even dream of matching his career.

For the guy to assume he's past his best (as you do) because he's seen him do so is to assume his age has caught up with him and is superficial thinking that betrays a lack of knowledge of top level sport. Its pointless to argue with someone who can't deal with the indisputable fact that he currently holds 2 of the 3 Majors and has won as many Majors in his 40s as either his 20s or 30s and that these facts alone strongly suggest he's not "past his best" and is still the man to beat. As well as that you also don't address my comparison with Phil Taylor and darts presumably because you know you're in the wrong to suggest he's declining purely because of his age. There's still no compelling evidence that Ronnie's on the decline , if there were I'd be one of the first to notice because , (and I'm sure this will shock someone like you) I'm not a big fan of his , I think his behaviours been pretty poor throughout his career , but you can't argue with the mans talent/results. All the class of 92 seem to be showing signs of decline (to varying degrees) - something I've been saying for several years - but (at least for now) they are all top 16 players and still capable of an extremely high standard of play. I’d you look at ranking tournaments, even if he didn’t win he was almost always the person with the most centuries in the tournament. He barely ever is this person anymore. He has more resilience now, better match play, he’s less wayward when he fucks up positionally. That’s the reason he’s still very competitive. He has adapted to his regression in break building

One of the things about RO is that he has always been a closet tactician. He only really pulled that tool out of his bag of tricks when it was absolutely necessary but otherwise followed the Hendry school of thought of go after everything unless you have absolutely no choice. While RO is still an amazing all round player and undoubtedly the GOAT but for a wide spectrum of reasons his all around game, maybe it is focus, has suffered, not alot but enough to give opponents that he should demolish a fighting chance. One thing that many of the new-school fans and players don't know is that Ronnie is an outstanding tactical and safety player. I would venture to say the very best on this level. I think that changing his focus on his amzing table-running prowes to someone that can absolutly out-play anyone else and change is focus that way I would be that it would yield many many more Osullivanesque moments. Just my 2 Pence worth.

Don't always agree with Ronnie but what a refreshing and honest interview. We are blessed to have lived to see the greatest player ever in this wonderful game. I still believe Hendry changed the game for the better and will always be my favorite player ever and i know people say standard has gone up and i agree but hendry could only beat what's in front of him.
