WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use KZbins lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and KZbin deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

Beautiful watch Gary. As a former watch snob in my very younger days, I can only say I was losing out on some great watches. I only realized it later. I've around 25 watches, which includes a few Swiss vintages, an Omega Seamaster, Blancpain 50 fathoms, Seiko Prospex divers and a Grand Seiko. I've now also got G-Shocks, Casio digitals, Addies dive, Heimdallr, Steeldive, and one Pagani Uranus homage moonwatch v4, just arrived and a hundred times better the original Mission to Uranus I was silly enough to buy! I do like this watch, 44mm is ok for my 8" wrist. Would love to see s review of the new one. It actually has a 50 fathoms tire style bezel which I love. Excellent video.

Prefer the new version with the date at 6 o'clock and the part skeletonised hands, makes for a cleaner dial layout. The original one with the date at 3 o'clock and the magnifier is too cluttered.Can't wait for your review of the new model. Another great video Gary.👍⌚😎

Love this watch. I bought the same version (blue 200m with the simpler 60 click alu bezel) several years ago directly in china where I lived at that time. It immediately became the watch in my collection that I wore most, and it still has that honor today years later. It fits my larger wrist well enough, looks great, runs accurate, has a date, is waterproof and has proven quite robust. I treat it very harshly, even sometimes wear it as a beater, in the shop when working on cars etc. It has stood the test of time incredibly well considering. The only longevity issue I have is the blue varnish between the raised parts of the case back which started to deteriorate after a couple of years and is now almost completely gone. In China you can get a lot of different versions, including some with a pair of diamonds in place of the twin batons at the 12 :D . I feel that this base version somehow fits the character of the watch best :)

I bought a black. one 4 years ago from the Sea-gull main store and bought the blue version for my friend this year from Aliexpress. We both love them. I wear a Skmei 1412 now and think it's great. 50m water-resistant and a brilliant light.

This is a great watch. If I wasn't being urged to save hard atm, one of these would definitely be getting boxed up and on its way to my house. The movement is a neat and simple looking affair, but I love the handset, and the hand lengths are great.

Very nice. My latest addition is an Addiesdive 2102 Sumo homage with a beautiful blue dial that set me back a whole $106. Other than a Hamilton Broadway automatic all of my watch acquisitions this year have been Chinese made. Just can't beat the price for quality and I no longer wish I could spend thousands for Swiss luxury. Have a great Christmas.

A fine looking watch. I'm not a watch snob, although I appreciate the quality and workmanship in them. Prices made me look at the lower end and Sea-Gull are a make that interests me. This model in the video very much appeals to me.

Just checked out the new 2022 version of the watch, and it seems to be about twice the price of the one you are showing! And that fancy box they show it coming with is a bit misleading - in the fine print of the description it says that they send it out in the original cardboard box, unless you write to them to say you want the fancier box, which they will then charge an extra $20 for.

That’s not the case for all divers as ISO can’t force all brands to follow their guidelines…

Great, original dressy diver. In blue! Much better then a bb58 knock-off. But too big. Never went for it exactly for that reason.

I think the Pro is more water depth and the bezel is not aluminum, more glass like. The date is not magnified and at 6. I see many used ones on the China eBay for about 100-140$, the Pro is near 300$. The colors on the Pro are different especially the green which is darker. They have some special ones, An interesting ceramic, Bronze, white, all specials at 500 produced and at double the price. I have two and want a good black one. Need to get before I leave Beijing.

I like it go to their web page to buy it a couple of years ago but the price vs what it brings to the table is too high. For that price I better buy a San Martin even thou Sea-Gull has more pedigree.

Notice the "Diver's" text, but see no ISO reference. Is this another example of taking liberties with standards? That aside, quite like it, but the bracelet seems a bit too oversize, even for a 44mm watch.

After learning the history of the “bridge watch” and it’s connection to Corum I ordered a much less expensive bridge watch from Ali Express, which is on the way as I write. I would have ordered from Corum but I couldn’t afford the substantial thousands they ask for this watch. The watch I ordered is a homage, not a clone. I don’t wear clones.

While this is a nice watch I'm not convinced that it is an 'original' design. At first glance I thought that it was an Orient - perhaps a Mako XL or a Kano. I have both of those and did not pay nearly the Ali Express regular price for either of them. Not trying to knock Sea Gull but for the money they seek there are better known options.

Their are very few 100% genuinely original designs these days and even the worlds biggest brands make homages…some more closely linked to the originals than others. Swiss brands have their cases and bracelets and many other components made in the same factories that make some of the AliExpress brands so these days it’s impossible to actually avoid watches links to certain countries or cultures…this is why I try to encourage people to be open to all watches but I also understand that some homage watches are just not appealing to some people…thanks for the honest feedback and comment…

Comparing different eta 2824 clones the seagull off the shelf clone Well people assume its 26 jewels but it has 28. Its heavily based on the stellita but apart from the balance jewels all others are not oiled at all. Quite a few company's make clones, peacock (dandong) is relatively the same qc but oiled. In my opinion the best ETA 28 clones are made by hangzhou, great QC, very accurate, looks all interchangeable with ETA fully lubed. I did order a watch with a pt5000, I do worry some company's are selling whatever 2824 eta clone as a pt5000 but HKPT and hangzhou had a colab so should be good. Seagull rarely makes watches I'm pretty sure this watch just like the "official" 1963 are outsourced. Seagull is the largest movement maker the world so they can outsource anything else as everyone relys on them for movements. They do make a few in house but we are talking gold or very expensive stuff. I really hope they use a better quality of movement in the sea star than an off the shelf seagull 2824 clone. With the official 1963 its just not worth it. If anyone wants a 1963 I would highly recommend red star brand 40mm sapphire. I have had HKED, seguss, and red star. The 38 in acrlicic is crazy chunky, sapphire better but still chunky. The 40mm is so much thinner and with sapphire on a leather its thin enough to be worn as a dress watch and for some strange reason it feels much smaller than the 38mm. I would always recommend the gooseneck. I've had mine for 5 years and it's one of my most complimented watches.
