Rnd point is that they changed an unique item, that definitely is not the best item. Into just another movement item. Rnd made points on how changes to the item are needed to make it more worth it, but there are still ways to work with the item, currently how it is. Even if one way is just scrapping.

@11:50 It reminds me of Death Defiance vs Stubborn Defiance in Hades. Stubborn Defiance is a crutch and it's good when you're new to the game and trying to get anywhere. But once you're trying to actually win full runs, it _sucks ass._ If my run can't even make it to the final boss without 2 or 3 of my Death Defiances remaining, I'm just fucked against the final boss anyway (not because I necessarily will need them all for the final boss, though I do find it to be by far the hardest thing in the game). Even if you burn a defiance or two on early stuff, chances are you'll get an opportunity or two to buy them back. (For context of people who are less familiar with Hades, it's a roguelite, and one of your starter perks is a "choose between" with either 3 lives which respawn you at 50% max HP or 1 life per room for 30%. And like, the latter seems like so much more value, but if you're regularly dying in non-boss rooms to get value out of it you're just screwed.)

Shrine of Shaping can sometimes be helpful if it appears while playing an Archipelago multiworld randomizer with deathlink. It would allow me to preserver my run / dios if the person I'm playing with dies in their game.
