As much as we all got pissed at Rock trying to inject himself into an ongoing storyline we were all invested in - The truth is that,after they pivoted , he did SPECTACULAR work in this run. Dave's reasoning for why he said Cody doesn't have the natural charisma but ability to get the emotion or whatever to get people behind him unlike Austin, Brock, Hogan, etc. almost the exact reason I just don't care about Cody either way. He always just seems to be trying too hard to be a babyface, as if his life depends on it. WWE was "doing break-even business" because of lowered house show attendance is absurd and made-up. They've increased annual revenue every year for 15 straight years. 2009 was the last time their revenue trended downward with about a half billion in revenue. Last year, that number is now $1.3 billion. WWE could have 150 empty arenas in a year and still be profitable. They increased revenues in 2020 (from 2019) during the pandemic with flat-screens in the arena. These numbers are all public. If you truly think WWE makes $1.3 billion in revenue and also spends $1.3 billion to operate (break even) - you've got yourself a pretty wild theory there. The good thing is, unlike rumors, you can actually verify financials for public companies. Please research before pontificating.

Revenues include arena ad space, merchandise and trade agreements. Expenditures include salary for a single show, crew/travel, arena lease, and advertising (trade). There hasn't been a time since the early 90's when WWE wasn't running at a significant profit. "Breaking even" one or two years ago (as was claimed) is absurd, it's not the 1970's.
